I just bought a Grand Remoska from a advert in my local paper. £25 with a rack. Brand new never been used . Bargain. The seller said she wanted a slow cooker and her mum brought her a Remoska. Going to plough my way threw this thread for recipes now as i cant wait to use it.

    Hi Bellaquidsin (hope you're around!)

I finally got around to trying the bread rolls. I've made an 8oz of flour batch of dough and divided it into 8 little rolls. I forgot to ask how long to bake them for. I think rolls take less time than a loaf. Would you say 20 minutes in a standard Remoska? (from cold, ie first thing to be cooked.)
I think you may need a little longer. Rolls take about 25 in my Grande. You need to turn them over for the last 5 minutes to crisp up the bottom.

My remoska I think has paid for itself since Christmas when I bought it My oven has barely been on at all, and my electic bill has dropped quite a bit.
I haven't posted in a Remoska thread since I plucked up courage to buy a Grande in about February. I haven't noticed any reduction in our electricity bill, but I am cooking things that I refused to do before because they would have been a waste in the main oven, and my eldest son bought a huge flat screen TV which probably cancels out my savings  Still without the Remoska we would be paying more  I must be saving electricity because a batch of 12 bread rolls is cooked in less time than in the main oven.

Hi Addiscomber, how'ya doing ? we can't see any saving on our bills as we pay them in dribs, monthly, but I am sure that my not turning the huge oven on daily just for two of us has to be moneysaving. And also things in the Moska taste so good. We are just back from 2 weeks self-catering in France and the car was too full to put the Moska in - I felt quite sad without it and missed it ! You're right though - there are lots of things that I wouldn't cook for the two of us because I didn't want to put the oven on, but now I do them in the Moska...hoorah ! :T

Mrs M do you really have 42 tomato plants ? You'd better get a market stall..... I already have enormous tomato gluts with only 16 plants every year. But - it's definitely worth it :-)

hathor and Addiscomber, Hi. I have made rolls today from 8oz flour and carefully timed them in my standard pan and yes, they took a good 25 minutes. Sorry if I caused any confusion, just had never timed them before.

I've got a skinless boneless small salmon fillet for my supper tonight. I've searched this thread and can't find info on salmon...I don't want to cook it in the oven as its too hot to put the oven on, and I always seem to overcook it anyway...So I thought about doing it in the Remoska..have any of you tried this? How do you cook it and for how long?

I did 3 salmon fillets in mine last night and they cooked to perfection. I just cooked them until they looked 'right' - about 15 minutes I think.
