    Hi all

Im another one who just stabs the potatoes and throws them in..they are gorgeous :D we have jackets at least 5 times a week now its warmer -so it must be saving us a fortune :D

Im so excited as I have just picked up 2 16cm spring release tins that are about 1.5-2"" deep so fit the remoskas easily :j-only €1.58 each -so now I can do deep quiches and do smaller sponges etc:D...
I still haven't had my oven on since I had mine -heck it must be about 10 months now -hubby put it on twice when I was in hospital -but thats all so far :p.... Im really wanting to make my baguettes again -which means turning the gas guzzler on -so I think I will make a double batch and stick them in the freezer so I won't have to put it on for ages again ;)

    Lakeland customer service is brilliant!

Yes I'd say an hour in the deep pan will be fine, I just put them in without any foil and they crisp up lovely. I don't even bother to !!!!! them. Won't let me say pri ck lol.

I've finished the shortbread testing! The sillicone bakeware on a rack was a little bit too high and the silli stuck to the lid, so I took it off, and put the shortbread back in upside down on a plate which was better, just a little bit softer in the middle. I then tried it with tins, one under the rack and one on top. This turned out really well so I will stick to this for shortbread in the future. Thanks for the helpful suggestions.

    hiya all

im still thinking of buying this and im really in two minds on whether the grande would be better for us although 3 of us,,,, i would like to do extra and freeze so that might work out better for us

plus when having guests over it would work out better for us

havnet looked to see if any special offers yet will take a peek now

anyway its either this or the breadmaker for me at the moment ,,,, im leaning towars this as my first option as can do so much more

i will then save up for the breadmaker

just have to budget it in anyway would love to hear anymore of your updates and what you all have achieved in cooking in it

    many thanks maz

I'd get a remoska first. I bought mine on the 23rd of March and I've used my oven once since then for a big pizza I bought :D I've even thrown out my microwave as I've now been able to cook proper meals for myself when my daughter is away instead of buying readymeals and not feel guilty about having to heat up the huge oven for one chicken kiev or something :D

I also have a breadmaker - its been on about 4 times in the past year :o Whereas the remoska as been used more than 4 times this month alone ;)

I'd go for the Remoska. I have the standard one (there's two of us) as well as making many meals in it, I also make bread and rolls in it, also scones and sponges.

If you had the grand you would be able to do bigger loaves.

    many thanks nicki and bella

i know my heart is telling me to go for the remoska and all these posts assure me it must be a good enough thing,,,,

i will of course try out the bread rolls etc in the remoska before splashing the cash out on the bread maker,,,so thats useful to be aware of too

so huge thanks for getting me out of my wobble,,,lol

our microwave is so old only ever use to defrost if i have to quickly or heat up a mug of milk,,,,, so not wishing to replace it as it has its uses for the time being, just using the big oven for little things costs money

so remoska here i come, get paid next week, think i will splash the cash on that and then let you all know how i get on,,,,,yipeeeeeeeee

laters all maz have a fun day cooking,,,,:T

I still use my Remoska - almost every day in fact and often more than once! I have a family of four adults. I originally started off with the standard as my girls are often out and I didn't realise how much I would love using it! For most things the standard was fine although portions were a little on the small side. After a year or so I requested and received the Grande for a Xmas present. I use that one just as much as the smaller one, often both at the same time! The Grande is great for doing a larger pasta or rice bake with enough left over for lunch the next day or two, or for the girls to take some for their lunch at work.

It is also great for cooking whole chickens - not that you can't cook a chicken in the standard size - just in the Grande you can cook a bigger one! It is also great for bread and rolls too, and scones turn out nice although I don't bake very often.

ps - the only time we use the big oven is for big pizzas!
