Now, I havent got mine yet, but if it comes at the weekend, one of my meals I want to have is a Frittia, normally I would do this on the hob and then under the grill.
Should I try it in the moska? Surely using a gas hob for the frying part is more economical than the moska?

    Pawpurrs,
Mine arrived today, included is a recipe book with a recipe for spanish tortilla (also found on the http://www.hoorayforhomecooking.co.uk/index.html website) explains a bit better about the frying business which I agree doesn't make much sense until you open the box ...

Sorry what do you mean untill you open the box?
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • I guess I didn't know what to expect, the base pan is just like a huge deep frying pan. Think i thought it was encased in something, sort of all made sense when I saw it.

How can I cook a ready meal in the remoska?
It's in a plastic container but you can oven cook it.
Can I put it straight in the pan or do I need to put it on something?
I have a silicone cake tin should I upturn that?

I have done ready meals in the Moska, just put them in the container that you would put in the oven. I do have a magic liner in the bottom of the pan to save it getting scratched though. You could put it on something - this will cook it quicker but I haven't done this, I have just put it in the pan.

I did a courgette, sundried tomato and basil fritatta in the Remoska yesterday. Just made up the mixture with the eggs, poured it into the remoska and switched it on - no need to put it under the grill, or do the thing with a plate and turn it over in the fyring pan. The remoska simply cooks both sides of the tortilla at the same time. When done, I turned it out on a plate and served it with a green salad and some steamed new potatoes. So easy!

  • Well after months of wanting one, i've finally done it I've been into the new shop in Liverpool One and bought a Grand remoska, i also bought a receipe book and a rack as I'd read on here that one would be useful. Now I just have to pluck up the courage to use it, what's the best thing to start with..?

I really want this to work as my kids school have just announced that the school kitchen is gonna be not working for the next three weeks so I need something to help me when I get home from work - can I put the remoska on a timer and get stuff ready in the morning?

    Hi Alice's Mum,

    Welcome to the club

I have not tied it but I know people have mentioned before that they put there remoska on a timer and come home to a lovely hot meal.

I may not be the best to advise you as to a first meal to try as I don't eat meat.

My first go with mine was to cut up new potatoes, onions. leeks, carrots and whatever else I had in the fridge. I added some whole cherry tomatoes and some fresh (or dried) thyme. Added seasoning and a SMALL drizzle of olive oil. Swamp it and it will go soggy. Imagine just putting oil on your hands and rubbing the veg to very lightly coat it. I did this for about 40 mins then added some veggie sausages (you could use meat ones) and elft it for another 20 mins. It was lovely.

For a first try that does not involve a main meal. Try the flapjacks from the little blue pamphlet. Don't cook for more than 20 ins. Gorgeous. Everyone loves them.

Have a read back through this thread for loads of great ideas but most of all ENJOY :D

I have not had time to use it yet and we are out for dinner with friends tonight so will have to wait till tomorrow or probably Monday when Mr Muppet is at work and I can prepare a solo lunch in it.

    Hi Alices Mum

I use my Remoska with a timer, and cook everything from whole meals with meat and veg, to using it to heat ready meals.

I also have a steamer, and as we have a dog, I put the meat into the Remoska on timer for about 45 mins before we want to eat, then turn on the steamer when we get home so that the veg cook while we take the dog out.

If you need any more info, let me know
