Pink if you could let us know when they are going to have the next round of half price deals that would be great.
RE the news of the world article i'm pretty sure that Sainsbury's basket was the most expensive even more so than Waitrose and that's saying something. It was in yesterdays paper i remember seeing it their basket was bottom which was the dearest;)

The News of the World article did have Sainsbury's as the dearest, but a few days earlier The Mirror had Sainsbury's as the cheapest. I guess it depends on which items the papers used for the basket.

Some deals on some departments will change this Wednesday but the vast majority of offers will change next Wednesday (23/07/08).

I find the quality of Sainsburys value ranges tends to be far higher than other supermarkets.

It would be interesting if one of the papers, rather than comparing the "standard basket" did a comparison of how many products the different supermarkets did in their value ranges - those standard baskets always seem to have all kinds of branded products in which are irrelevant to my style of shopping! :D
  • For the next 7 days starting from tomorrow (16/7) Sainsbury's have all Grapes at half price, including all loose and Pre pack grapes which means some 500g packs of Grapes will be £1.14. (This offer excludes the 'snack packs')

For the same duration Raspberries will be better than half price at £1.69 a punnet against the previous half price offer of £1.99

I don't think Sainsbury's has good prices normally, but i do most of my shopping there because of the location and excellent quality of basics, which are much better than other brands' basics. i also have a quick scout of all the reduced sections and buy from them. plus try to get all the offers that i would usually buy anyway. I do think it is a 'nicer' environment than the cheapos, personally.

BTW! after one delivery from them, they are putting up the delivery charge to £6.50, so it will also be the last and i will stick with Asda online.

For the record, I use mysupermarket everyweek for my weekly shop and have done so for about 6 months now (so thats alot of weekly shops).

I have never seen any of the other big three come in "cheaper overall" than sainsburys, plus I get nectar points, and I am already up to 5000+ nectar points this year, and by december should have enough points to cover my main "christmas shop extra's".... without harming the wallet

ALL ROUND VERY NICE INDEED !
