Sainsburys Deals?

Hello,
I see lots of postings for Tesco and Argos deals, but not much for Sainsburys. We shop there weekly (or almost weekly) and sometimes there's some great deals. So I thought, hey! Why not have a Sainsburys deals thread?!
So, I guess I'll get started:
Not sure if the deal's still on, but last weekend they had a bag of oranges on for 69p (good quality too!)
Also, Pataks sauces are on BOGOF.
I also recommend their value bourbon creams. Very nice and very affordable!

Probably because IMO they don't have good offers usually. The only time i've seen offers that are any good in there is when they now and again and this is every few weeks have a few half price offers.Even then sometimes it's the same stuff like their Chicken Goujons.
By the way this will get moved as it's in the wrong forum.Darren0 -
their strawberry flavour jelly is still 8p a tablet...as opposed to asda at 15p and morrisons at 15p too...0

plus they only refund the difference, no dtd or anything. and imo (they are my nearest supermarket) they are dearer and i find it is well worth driving to tesco for my shoppingA happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

our local somerfield is closing at end july ...and rumored that its reopening end of august as Sainsbury's .
hope so ...i'd heard that they were supposed to have great offers each week/ month .... plus the necter card how does that work ..is it the same as tesco clubcard ...only been in sainsbury's a few times as our nearest was over 40 miles away0 -
Yes the Nectar card is pretty much the same you collect points depending on how much you spend instore etc.
But with the Nectar card you can use it in other places too unlike the clubcard.
Not sure where you heard about Sainsbury's having good offers every week as they don't.As i said above they might now and again and this is maybe once every 2 months maybe more have half price offers but they are few and far between. The best you'll find is buy 2 of something for a fiver say but as they are so much more expensive than the rest they ain't that good either.Darren0 -

They clearly don't sell a lot of jelly then as it seems to be cheap ... unlike pretty much everything else which is extortionately priced in my opinion!
I only go to Sainsburys when they do al of their Johnsons baby products at half price then I go in and spend about £30 and stock up for a whileRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I have shopped at Sainsburys, and there 'basics' range is pretty good quality and the price is comparable with tesco/asda- BUT I nearly faint when I see the price of their fresh meat and fish (eg £4.99 for a little tray of unremarkable tiger prawns) and in my local sainsburys I have never seen reduced stuff, they just don't seem to do it. Pity really because I'm sure the quality is great, but at the moment people are feeling the pinch and will shop where they get good deals- and sainsburys just don't have enough offers or good deals.....................0

Sainsburys is not that much more expensive than anywhere else. People compare the price of the taste the difference stuff to other supermarkets basics ranges and come to that conclusion. The sainsburys basic ranges are pretty much the same price as tesco or asda.
At the moment sainsburys has half price celery and sainsburys basics strawberrys are only £1.0 -
The bacon is only £1.00 pack and 2 for one on their lovely sausages. Nip in there for them and there are no q's to pay recently !!! Wonder why (think they all gone to Aldi !!)0

You could be right there lisa2905! We shop Saturday morning - first Aldi then Sainsbury's (for what we can't get at Aldi!) Up until recently Aldi has been really quiet and queues at Sainsbury's. Now it's reversed - queues at Aldi and dead quiet in Sainsbury's!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
