I thought PCSO traffic division did have the power to issue tickets
  • PCSO traffic division? Did you make that up?

    Traffic PCSO
    • Visible, accessible and familiar uniformed presence
    • Gathering criminal intelligence
    • Maintaining a free flow of traffic on red and priority bus routes
    • Assisting in traffic and pedestrian control
    • Issuing of fixed penalty notices and parking tickets

I don't think traffic PCSO's would be walking down a quiet street like mine. i wish they would. The council informed me today that they will only issue a parking fine if someone is blocking a footway crossing, if they have a signed statement from the person who's crossing is being blocked. So no they wont ticket me for blocking my own drive.. I also clarified if they will only ticket if there was a car in my drive and they confirmed that regardless as to wither the drive is in use as long as its blocked and the owner request a warden issue a ticket they will. It earns them money so I can see why they would. I think the issue of them blocking my drive is really resolved as I can call the council, its them parking on the drive. Today I left some garden rubbish in the drive and it was still there intact when I returned. I got a dummy camera today but I can't put it up my self. Ill have to wait until Monday for OH. I am still a little confused.

If they park here again can I or cant I report it to the police?
Is it a criminal offense for them to walk in and out of my drive and move my bin?
I really feel uneasy and worried that this will get out of hand when I am alone.
For the record, no I wouldn't really take a bat to one of their windows. I would get a criminal record, spend the night in cells and loose my career. I really need to come up with something. These people must be breaking some law? I know it may seem as thought I am pushing this and risk it going out of control, but I have asked them so nicely in the past and if I don't stop it now it never will.

Don't where you got that from, but it is incorrect.

PCSO's do not have the power to issue tickets for parking offences.

Each force can decide what powers to give their PCSOs though there is calls for consistency across every force.

I was strangely irritated when British Gas came today to service my boiler. I have a long driveway (parking for about 4-5 cars) and my car was on the drive.

Normally when we have deliveries or callers they park in the road outside as there is plenty of room and there is little on street parking as all houses have long drives. The only people who park in my drive are family and friends and even then they ask if it's okay in case myself or OH are going out.

Anyway today I looked out of window and there is BG man reversing into my driveway. He didn't ask if it was okay as he was blocking the car in. He just didn't mention anything.

I didn't need to go out and OH had just left for work 10 minutes earlier so it wasn't a problem, but it irritated me. Blooming stupid I know:o

Some people get irritated by strange things. he was working on your property why shouldnt he park there?

Not wanting to go over old ground but I have answered this question in post numbers 68, 74 & 83.

Apparently I'm "anal" in that I still expect people to display manners:rolleyes:

Just out of curiosity, why does this annoy you?
Is there a need to use your driveway to turn, or could they do it just as easily on the road.

By the by (not directed at you, your post just reminded me of it), what really gets my goat is people who buy a house at the bottom of a dead end road then get annoyed when people turn outside their house...

I'm with tinkerbelle on this one, turning round outside someones house in a cul de sac is to be expected but not by driving into their drive as is implied. What about the safety of kids etc in the drive ? not to mention that folks that do this are always in a hurry as they know they are doing wrong and as such are much more likely to damage property etc,
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Step 1. Buy a trolley jack

Step 2. Roll trolley jack under their rear axle

Step 3. Lift vehicle wheels off the floor

Step 4. Pull/push vehicle off your drive, into the road

Step 5. Phone council, who will tow vehicle away and charge the owner for said tow.
