I bought sleepsuits at Tesco and Asda - and the Tesco ones are good

Wash them with a nice softner and they will stay soft.

The Asda packs mentioned above are brilliant, I've bought the plain white ones for my baby due in a few weeks.

I used Asda sleepsuits and vests with my first two children, they always washed really well. In fact some of them were used for both children and lasted well.

My lad's in an Asda george one at the moment and he looks cute as a button. They wash well, don't shrink, and the vests have 3 buttons. I find the cheaper ones with only 2 buttons underneath ride up the side of the napy and cause chaffing or leaking.

Matalan! They're quite reasonable (can't remember exactly how much) but they have fold over cuffs which are much better than scratch mittens (which are always enormous and fall off anyway!).

Not sure about the quality of their sleepsuits, but Matalan have great value combed cotton vests, with flat seams, for less than £3 for 3. They wash well and have 3 standard sized poppers (Wilkinsons have smaller ones that the vest extenders I use don't fit).

the matalan ones with the fold over cuffs are great- very reasonably priced.

all of matalans baby clothes are good- i've never had a problem with them anyway!

Matalan ones are great too and they're the only ones I've ever seen with the built in scratch mitts!
