anyone been/live there ?just want to know if there is tesco and if so how big is it and if there's a self scan for coupons and do they sell petrol please?

I put Ullapool into the tesco store locator...doesn't look like there is one near by....

There's only a small-ish Somerfield (ex safeway)
IIRC the only petrol station is the shell garage

Nearest other supermarkets would be Morrsons Alness, Lidl Alness, Tesco Dingwall, Lidl Dingwall, Tesco Inverness (x3), Co-op Inverness, Morrisons Inverness, Lidl Inverness

i live in the isle of lewis we catch the ferry to ullapool and there is a new one there now opened a few weeks ago but ive not been in so dont know details sorry. You could ring customer service for details. Just incase anyone is interested we are getting a tesco in stornoway about the 22nd of this month.

Ah I remember now, tesco bought up a number of old somefield sites including Ullapool, Kirkwall, and Stornoway

It appears the re-branded store in Ullapool opens on monday


Also unfortunatly Tesco are still applying for a fourth Inverness store :mad:

When the Somerfield in Ullapool closed and Tesco took over, before they opened they ran a free bus service to Dingwall Tesco. Pity they didn't do something similar in Lewis, as we've only had the Co-op for the last number of weeks, and they've been struggling.

Petrol tends to be even more expensive than everywhere else that far North so its worth filling up in Inverness if you are coming that way. Only one petrol station in Ullapool so no competition either. Ullapool is a lovely place though - gorgeous scenery and plenty to do. Great fish and chips! Enjoy your visit

There's a great chipper just across the road from the linkspan, they offer different sizes of fish, the largest is about £7.50 for a supper but boy that is one big haddock!!

perhaps you should phone tesco up directly so they can answer your questions which you specifically have or even do some googling/internet searching on the topic.
