I ordered a new graphics card online from CCK Technologies on 26/06/08. There was a problem with my credit card payment so I phoned them a couple of days later and made the payment on the telephone. The man I spoke to was very nice and said there was a delivery due that day and I should have the card by the end of the week, so by 4th July.
I waited and waited and the card didn't come so I tried to find out the order status on their website. Their system is atrocious and I was unable to find this out so I submitted a form requesting the info. I got an email stating that the card would be shipped on 18th July. I emailed them stating that this was unacceptible and I wanted a refund if they couldn't have the card delivered by Friday 11th. I heard nothing.
They emailed me yesterday afternoon stating that there was a 'slight delay' with the order and the 'ship date' was now 25th July 2008  (there was no mention or acknowledgement of my email to them!). I'm reluctant to phone them up since the only number they seem to give out is an 0870 number. I bought the card from them because it was the cheapest around by far. I still want the card but I explained to the guy on the phone that I need it as soon as possible because mine is 'dying'.
Has anyone got any knowledge of this company? I don't want to wait another two weeks to receive another email saying it's delayed yet again. Grr!
I feel a bit better now. Having a moan always helps doesn't it.

I did get another email saying they wouldn't be getting a delivery till sometime in August.
I spoke to a lady (again, nice) on the phone who was very apologetic and said she'd 'ask', when I asked if I could get a bit of a reduction or a slightly better card or something, to make up for the awful delay. She emailed me later saying she'd managed to get my delivery upgraded: so no difference really.. a day or two?
I gave up on them and got a refund *sigh*.
Search back on! *mutter*0 -
I have had trouble lately with this company. I sent for a laptop bluetooth speaker system which I cancelled after a one week wait. I was intending to take it to India to use when delivering a seminar from the 12th to 24th. While I was away it was delivered and my wife tried to get a returns number, and was sent an advice that it was due to delivered between the 17th and 23rd!. She tried numerous attempts to get a number but none arrived.
I have been telephoning them most days since I got back, each time with an assurance that it was being looked at. Today, 4th Feb, I was informed that there was no record of my cancellation. They said I would have a copy of any email on my computer. However, since I went through their website system I have no record on my Outlook. In top of that they took an extra £23+ than on the invoice.
What can I do?0 -
Having just had a gander on google for info. about CCK, I came across a couple of Ciao reviews (here and here, or just look up CCK on Ciao) which aren't flattering to say the least
It seems I got off lightly!
I'll just quote a bit from one of them, which states some of the other companies in their group, to possibly forewarn anyone else searching for info. on this 'family' of companies:KPIG (www.kpig-bs.com),

I'm sure someone will come along who's more savvy in consumer rights than me Turfman, but in the meantime, all I can think of to suggest really is that you write to them giving as much detail as you can about your experience (exactly when you ordered, whether you requested any specific delivery deadline - if you were able to; when you cancelled, how you did this, what you said in your message, etc..), and politely, but clearly and firmly stating that you want a refund and why, expressing your indignation at being charged extra, etc., etc..
The second Ciao link above, which I quoted a little of, seems to relate to your problem, although I don't know whether you informed them about delivery deadline, etc..
It's probably safest in a written 'physical' letter, though I'd try it via email first, and make sure you keep a copy. You'll probably have it from the sale confirmation, but in case you haven't, and for anyone else who might want it, it's customercare@ccktechnologies.co.uk (also, sales@ccktechnologies.co.uk).

Just to stop you all feeling so down about this - I've been caught by these rogues too. I ordered in good faith an item from CCK Technologies. I got an email confirmation from noreply@cccktechnologies.co.uk, with an American date on it, and saying thanks for shopping at KPIG Business Services. When the goods never turned up I tried to "track" the order to find that it wasn't due for delivery for two more weeks. When it still didn't turn up I emailed them and they asked me to wait for a day while they investigated. After a week, they emailed back to say the item was lost and would not be in stock again for another week.
Meanwhile, of course, the money was charged to my credit card, but under the name of LOWCOSTINK LTD. I now pronounce this as lowco-stink ltd.
After a further two weeks I again tried to "track" the order, to find it was due to be delivered "any day now". Needless to say, it has never arrived.
I have telephoned my credit card company who have helpfully told me to buy another from someone else, and they will raise a dispute with the company. However, it may take three months to get my money back, and if the goods turn up I will have to return them by recorded delivery at my own expense.
So far I'm in for only £25, and a long time without the item I require. That's what I will have to put down to experience. Always research a company you've never dealt with before - it doesn't really take long compared to the hassle if it turns out this way.:(0 -
Hi,
I'd like to bring to your attention my suspicions that a company based in your area maybe involved in an internet fraud scam( allegedly).
The company is
"
CCK Technologies Ltd, CH5 2JZ
Classification: Computer Services
Unit A2, Evans Easyspace, Deeside Industrial Park, Deeside, Clwyd CH5 2JZ
"
Please see comments at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1028969
and

Its seems to be for small amounts of cash (£132 in my case) each time and it follows a similar pattern each time.
I was searching for a part for my computer, they had it in stock and slightly cheaper ( my usual supplier would have to order it specially and I would have to wait).
I ordered it...got an email saying slight problem with credit card and to call them(on an 087 number. familiar pattern ?)... Immediately charged my credit card for slightly more than I should have been charged( familiar pattern). Shows up as "LOWCOSTINK LTD +44 870803218" on credit card statement.
wait 2 weeks...no part ....ring them...they claim it was sent but can't supply a tracing number even though they charged £27 for royal mail delivery....
wait 2 more weeks...ring them again....they agree to send another part as it must have got lost in post( sounds familiar ...still can't supply tracing number).
another 3 weeks passes..... still no part......their web site is down "http://www.ccktechnologies.co.uk/" except for the front page...but their other numerous aliases are still up(see list in url above).
The "problem with the credit card" seems to be a sinister part of the pattern suspect it is is so they can say that the (alleged)victim (I mean customer) rang up to confirm order !!!! ( cc company might be on to them.. allegedly)
I run a small business and am more annoyed by the time I've wasted in waiting for a part that was never going to be delivered than the money but I guess its a nice little earner for them
taking peoples money and having no intention(allegedly) of delivering the goods.0 -
These company's take your money and do not dispatch your goods, I have ordered from both company's and received nothing, When you contact them they tell you that they will chase but they do nothing, I have had claim the money back from the credit card company. I e-mailed the managing director and guess what, no reply !
DO NOT USE THEM !!0 -
Another one here...still waiting for some software two months down the line. Phoned them today, but their system is down due to "technical" reasons. I think I know what those reasons are; I tried to track my order with them last week, and hey presto, my computer suddenly gets a Trojan virus that bypassed Symantec's finest. I think I'll stick to the phone, as it is less dangerous than using their website. In the meantime...still waiting...0

Hi guys,
A similar story. I tried to buy a DVD writer from Tech Bits Online. They took my credit card payment in the name of CCK Technologies. No delivery. Followed up. No delivery. Looking at what you guys have to say it looks like a scam to me. Trading Standards weren't much help. Data protection appears to help CCK/Tech Bits/whoever more than the punter.
What have I learned? Research sellers before buying.0 -

Hi, I've been scammed by this company too. I ordered some toner cartridges from a company called 'Ink Cartridges Direct' and paid £125 for them by credit card. They never arrived and after phoning about 10 times and being told they were 'on the way, i finally asked for a refund. As with everyone else, I was given a tracking no. etc, but no refund was ever made, surprise, surprise. I phoned one more time and when I started asking a few more questions, eg ,can I have your name please', they hung up on me. On the credit card statment it appears as 'lowcostink'. I, too, phoned Trading Stardards and was given the co. number and the Deeside address. So they just keep on getting away with it huh? How many more people are going to get scammed before anyone does anything!!0
