    Hi

Just to let you know that the decision on bank charges has been delayed to early next year but I'm sure that the banks will go for further delaying tactics!

just thought i would let you know i have just had a phone call from the bank. I didnt sign the letters i sent them and they are being returned to me to sign.

Good news is that they are due me £20 as it is only one payment of £10 and i sent £10 per account.

The cfharges were taken when i was on benefit and i have read on the forum that they are not allowed to take money off benefits. Will this work in my favour, I know that the cases are all on hold till sometime next year and i will have to wait. Just wondered what other people thought.

    well they arrived today

    £765.00 on account 1
    £2486.00 on account 2

account 3 i am a bit confused about. I have been charged £0.50 everytime i used my switch card on some statements it is reffered to as a Withdrawl Fee on others it is called Other Charge. My question is am i allowed to claim back.

Sorry if its the wrong place.

why is it everyone assumes your debt is written off when you go br

for me it hasnt. my parents took a loan for me which i am paying. i called halifax today cause we have 3 savings accounts with them and the lady i spoke to assumed cause i am br my debts have been written off. That is so not true. Yes i was stupid yes i buried my head but i am paying for it now

I suppose because in theory all your debts should have been written off, and you should have, if you were playing by the book, included your parents as creditors and that should have been written off too, as they are now receiving preferential treatment over all your other creditors.

But we all know real life just isn't like that, especially where family is concerned.;)

GEttingbetter - your debts were written off in bankruptcy. If your parents took out a loan for you, it is their loan not yours. Its up to you whether or not you pay it back, I'm sure you feel you need to pay it back too! That is a risk someone takes when they take a loan out for someone else - don't do it.

    ok
the light bulb has gone on
the loan my parents took out for me which i am paying back is instead of paying the or monthly. hope that makes sense, they thought it would work out cheaper in the long run to pay it off in a oner and we discussed it with the or and he was in agreement.
just wish they would give us a final settlement figure
