I've got some paper thats different pattern each side..........one side pale brown and cream sort of ''modern' squares, the other blue and white striped...........make complete bodge of last striped one.........didn't get it quite level so think the next one will be the brown and cream...........already painted one hanger in cream emulsion (experiment that went wrong) so maybe with the colour paper and paint any rough bits won't show............he's hoping.

OH now collecting stuff round the house cos we've had two charity bags delivered......................lol He's had me up and down the stairs looking for bits and pieces............:rotfl:
Daren't ask him to hoover anywhere else, especially anyone who's a 'craft type' person............he'd have visions of sweeping up bits of sock monkeys and all sorts............:rotfl:

Why am I so impatient ????
Just done my door hanger in the coffee and beige colour paper............not sure what it''ll look like when its dry......I just had to keep fiddling with it while the paper was still wet
Instead of trimming the sides later on today I had to hack away at them while the paper was still wet.........what a pickle !
And I've got some cream paint showing at the top of the hole where I cut it wrong.........oh poo !!

Was going to cover two shoe boxes..............maybe its not the day for me and glue and paper.............................

Plus side.........grandaughters is looking better..............found some pale lilac card to put in the little pocket on it..........just need to find a pen that I can write messages on it now and get some letters for her name. :T

You sound like me Mary! I have to glue one side, cover it up with something and leave the room to go and do something else otherwise I fiddle with the hanger and I end up with raggedy bits

  • They look groovy! I like the effect around the edges, is that done with cord?

yeah its just cord wrapped around the edges and on the inside of the cut out. Not sure if you can see the butterflies on the top two pictures though, they are wire and mesh white butterflies. x

ikkle - brilliant door hangers - I'm very jealous :p but in a nice way..........lol

Love the idea of the cord...........how on earth do you fit it round the circle ?
I tried fiddling about with one of mine the other day -thought some peel offs from my card making stuff would bend around but they wouldn't so I gave up.
OH says no one will inspect them that closely and they''re ok but...........well, maybe its just me -the more I look at them the more I see little faults.

Oh........have to add - after yesterdays traumatic door hanger job I managed to cover two shoe boxes easy as pie !!!

I ran a line of UHT glue around the circle and then having precut the length of cord i needed started with the circle at the top where i knew i was goin to put the bow so that it covered up the join, just have to go slow and hold it for a few seconds as you do it and then it sticks :)

I got lil bro to papier mache two shoeboxes which I have painted cream to put door hangers and other stuff i made in as hampers .
