Hmm not as happy now as I was earlier, ones done but its too old fashioned loking for my nephew hasn;t turned out at all how i imagined it . Might just rip it apart and start again. :( But i'm giving up for tonight becaue my friend is about to be on tv !

    Ohhh, friend on TV!

Could you keep the hanger as it is and make it 'funkier' with what goes on it  ?

  • OOoooh just had an email from the seller on ebay, my hangers have been dispatched :) so they should be here in a couple of days. Paper should be on its way aswell.

Went on ebay last night to look for some fifi and the flowertots paper which I had seen on there sold by a seller who has extortionate paper (she has been mentioned on here before) however it looks like she no longer stocks it so now need to find an alternative and then find a nice picture of fifi to make up a hanger for 2 little girls to go with their craft box :)

  • Goodness, I haven't ventured on here since I found Rainmac's gorgeous first door hangers and I've just discovered a treasure trove of wonderful stuff. Well done everyone, it all looks fantastic.

Rainmac, can I just ask how you made those lovely door plaques. My littlest loves tortoises. Where did you get the tortoise and giraffe from? How did you do that wonderful writing? Did you make the plaque shapes or buy them from somewhere?

I'm really sorry for all the questions - forgive me if you have already explained all this and i've missed it in the thread. Thankyou

Thanks again everyone for all your inspiration.

I'm sure Rainmac will be here shortly to answer your questions but I know you can get the giraffe and tortoise from hobbycraft as I bought the giraffe to use as a tag for my daughter's friend.
  • I am pretty sure rainmac bought the giraffe and tortoise from there as furrypig says ;)

Hi funnyfreckle! I bought MDF door plaques from an ebay seller, same one as the door hangers I've mostly used. They were £3 for 3 inc p&p. I printed the wording (using the PC) onto scrapbooking paper, stuck onto the plaques, cut round and glued on the wooden tortoise and giraffe. I think they are pretty cool looking. The animal shapes were from Hobbycraft, 49p each.

HTH, please let me know if you have any other questions :D

If you can't find Fifi scrapbooking paper could you use Fifi wrapping paper, bet this is easier to find ;) Just thought might be a bit of a mare to cut though...

I didn't know you could get fifi wrapping paper! ... however I think they do wallpaper and borders so I may well be able to get a tester or border or paper to try (on the bedroom wall of course ;)
Will have a look next week.
    Thanks

I reckon wallpaper would be fab as it's much thicker than wrapping paper. Couple of tester pieces should just about do it, good thought!!!

  • Thankyou so much Rainmac for your helpful instructions:T. You make it sound as though even I could have a go. However, it sounds like I need a tempting trip to Hobbycraft - always dangerous! Goodness, I shall be so chuffed if my plaques look half as good as yours.

Furrypig and Rustyflange thanks so much for your help.
