I am too stingy to use my oven, preferring to use my Remoska. Too stingy to buy a whole chicken too so in the butchers today I bought 8 chicken thighs for £2.99 - 4 are being cooked now and 4 are in the freezer:j0

I do that too - its great if I am staying there for a few days because I clear them out each day:rotfl: These things are handy when I go camping and the like.
MY OH must be really stingy because when I go to his place, he has a jar in the kitchen containing lots of sachets of tea, coffee and sugar - as its cheap-tasting stuff I always use my own jar that I have stashed in the back of his cupboard (he never goes into the back of the cupboard so its quite safe).0 -

And for others, myself included (until two minutes ago  ), who did not know what a 'Remoska' is, and didn't want to ask in case they look foolish, I have just found the following link:

I am going to start saving - will probably buy one on ebay as I am too 'stingy' to pay the full price - £79.99 at Lakeland. :rotfl: :rotfl:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Ah rog2 - you need to wander over to the moneysaving oldstyle board as there is lots of chat over there about the wonderful Remoskas.
Managed to buy a Remoska cookbook on fleabay - it contains 200 recipes for the standard and grand versions (a poor woman bought it thinking it would do for her baby one but it doesnt). Go for the standard or grand. Its fab and so easy to use - no knobs to fiddle with just on and off.
I only use the oven if I have a large pizza to cook.0 -
let me know if the book's any good!
