When I stay in a hotel (like I have been recently for training) I make sure I charge everything up there, like toothbrush, phone, camera etc and I always ummm, 'use' the spare roll of toilet paper... I also ALWAYS empty the coffee's and teas and save them for holidays. (or give to friends who have camper tents;) )Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0

You use rainwater to flush the loo (and the washing up water). Someone I know stands in a bowl when they shower and saves that water for the loo as well! Also you visit friends often in the winter, saves on your heat, light and loo paper!!Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

I always do that, FE. Free teabags, coffee and Hot Water are about the only thing that my employers 'give' us. Sometimes they leave a loaf of bread (right on limit of sell-by date) by the toaster - there is, usually a choice of jams and spreads (again quite close to their 'best by' date) so I will, often make myself 'toast and peanut butter' to save eating when I get home.
Never considered that as being 'stingy' though. :rolleyes:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

When you have visitors come round and you subtley drop into the conversation that you don't flush the loo after a wee to save water, and hope they take the hint if the urge takes them whilst they are with you.
When someone calls to say they're popping over and you tell them to pick up a pint of milk on the way if they want a cuppa.
When your mate says they're coming over to have a bottle of wine with you (which they've bought) and they offer to bring a pizza to do in the oven as well - but you say to get something else to save on the leccy bill.
Funny how all of mine revolve around people coming over
Oh, I have been known to borrow loo roll from work as well :rotfl:0 -
milliemonster - wish you could train my step-kids to do that....we've failed to completely and they get through tonnes of loo roll! I really dunno what they do with it (or I don't want to think about it - teenage boys - yuk!)The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"
