You refuse to pay for a plumber to fix your heating and hot water because you might have to replace the boiler next year anyway, and hey, you've got a shower, a kettle, and a BIG jumper.

This is an example of one of the few times I feel I as a man am needed in the home!

Seriously, I_A do you know anyone that can come round and have a go? What kind of fixing is it?
I HAVE a man in our home.. and even he can't do it... :rotfl: I should really call the housing association and get someone out... but what the hell would I say? 'Uh hello housing association? I can't change a bulb...'
The only way I can describe it is a big circular fitting with a cover you have to take off to get to the bulb.. and we can't get the cover off.

Take a pic and post it on the "in the home" forum, I'm sure you'll get suggestions. Don't tell them how long it's been like that or you're likely to get teased!

Great thread Angelflower, thanks. Given me a good chuckle this morning, and some new ideas.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

You tell your kids the music from the ice-cream van is to let people know they've run out...

you only use 2 or 3 squares of loo roll every time you 'go' instead of the reams that you used to use so the rolls last longer:D

Good luck! Post back to let us know you've survived it! Use a torch and look for any small screws or clips you might have missed.
