E2Save - Royal Mail lost cashbach claim
I've got a bit of a problem with my latest cashback claim. I sent 2 letters off Special Delivery on 28 June, one being my passport renewal and the other a cashback claim. The passport one has been delivered, but the cashback claim keeps saying that it hasn't been tracked yet and I should check back tomorrow!
Has anyone got some advice on my best course of action? I assume that e2save have probably received the claim, just that the royal mail forgot to scan the barcode on the letter. However they don't acknowledge receipt of claims. I've got until 21 July to get the claim to them, but then the original bill was in the original letter so if this is lost I obviously can't send it with the claim. Any ideas from someone else who's been in this position?

How long ago was it posted? I know from experience it can take anywhere between 4-6 working days for documents to track in as delivered, when sent to the Loughborough PO boxes.
In any case, did you have consequential loss cover or just standard Special delivery? If the former, I wouldn't be overly worried as you can claim back from Royal Mail if the claim is not delivered in a timely fashion.
As already mentioned, did you make a copy of the network bill? If you are on a price match deal, the original bill is needed. For standard bills, copies/online bills are acceptable. See if you can get hold of an online bill, if not call the network and arrange with them to resend the network bill.
If you definitely needed an original bill, I would still contact the network as most networks can resend a fairly convincing copy of the bill. Networks like 3 however, simply send out bills which have clearly been printed out online in the call centre.0 -
If the contract is with cpwo2 (i.e. on O2 started before September 2007) you CAN send a copy of the bill. Otherwise you'll have to fall on the mercy of E2Save - not a happy thought but they sometimes do accept things.0

It might well have been redirected. I have had instances of tracked deliveries to PO boxes not tracking on-line but they have been able to send me a POD by email when I've phoned up and confirmed what's happened. So try that.
PS: Just a general observation; if you go to the expense of Special Delivery, I don't believe you are covered for consequential loss which is another £1.45. I believe their standard compensation only covers the value of the item you have actually sent - which in the case of a few bits of paper, is next to nothing.
So no real value to it over Recorded, in my mind, unless you take out the extra cover as well.
EDIT: I note the same point was made above. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Surely it depends on the terms and conditions of your offer rather than what network you're on? Price Match requires original bill...0 -
No. They allowed this a long time ago under the circumstances I described. Anyone on cpwO2 should ahve taken note and printed it off from their website. They have a habit of changing things to suit what they say at any given time, but they would have no hope in denying that concession provided you can prove they made it.0

if you go to your local delivery office they can track and trace the item and do an audit trail on the item
this will show where the item last tracked
large users/companies like CPW will have their own unique postcode
ask nicely though and i wouldnt recommend going tomorrow as saturdays are mobbed0 -

I don't think you mean CPW O2, I think you mean O2 Online, and that was only because there were no paper bills with O2 Online contracts.0 -
I meant precisely what I said! All contracts prior to September 2007 sold through cpw companies were/are administered by cpw and NOT O2! They are also the ONLY contracts cpw can "upgrade"!0

Why not just ring 08457740740 and the RM advisor will have all the information without the need of going to the DO.0
