Don't touch these people at all. I bought a series of DVDs (Gilmore Gilrs) for my wife and they are counterfeit. Also PayPal won't help you resolve this.0

I to have been hood winked by this rogue web site dvd1234.com. A complete series, bought for my daughters xmas present, were fake and did not play properly so had to be replaced after xmas from Amazon so I am out of pocket of £46 .
I tried resolution through paypal and 'xiao qing' by email offered to send replacement of faulty discs but I told him I wanted a full refund he then said the damage must have been caused by the post office so to seek refund from them, how discs not playing properly could be the post office fault beggers belief.
Paypal not interested in refund as the goods have been delivered.
If Paypal has been informed by others as I will also be doing that this company is selling counterfeit goods then they must be breaking some law by still allowing this site to use Paypal for payment.
Sadly we on this page have all been duped by dvd1234 so hopefully it will stop any one else from being duped.
At the moment dvd1234 is down for maintanance hopefully it will not return or they could set up in a different name so potential dvd buyers beware use trusted sites only.0 -
They're back but call themselves DVDSETSSHOP.CO.UK and appear as a sponsored link from eBay - top of the list so most tempting!!
All the text is the same but a brand new look and feel plus a "free gift" [loads of aggravation and hassle!]
Fell for the DVD1234 version and have a Stargate SG1 with an 18% failure rate on the disks and a Stargate Atlantis set with one completely failed disk and - wait for it - Season 5 ripped from a digital TV channel complete with logo and pop ups for "coming next".
They'll no doubt change their identity again so watch out for:
region free disks [there's no such beast legally]
non standard packaging
comments on "delivered ex factory in 10 to 15 days"
CHECK where they're coming from - if they're legit you could be charged by Customs, if they're fake they could be confiscated. PayPal won't help you!0 -
dvdsetshop have been around a while and you are quite right they sell dodgy discs. There are a multitude of these Chinese sellers around, sometimes masquerading as a .co.uk address.
I think the best advice is "if it looks too good to be true..." stands here, as well as the usual website checks e.g. address, telephone number etc.
Discs that are playable in any region are usually known as All Region or Region 0 but many counterfeiters will use these descriptions as well.0
