That's a very open question that depends on many variables:

How firm do you like your bed? Medium
What is your budget? Around £500 inc divan base!
What size of bed do you want? King Size
What storage options do you want? 4 drawers would be ideal

    Thanks Tim for your help

There have been a few mixed reviews about that brand on MSE although it is quite a well known brand.

The memory foam at 7cm is a little too deep, but that wouldn't cause back ache, it would be more likely to either make you too hot, or stop you changing position in bed.

Make sure you have made a final decision by the last day of the satisfaction guarantee. Hopefully your back is now getting used to it, and you will find it comfortable.

Thanks for your advice Tim. I'm hoping my back's liking the mattress as we have decided to stick with it. Hubby's had no problems with it and it did take me a while to get used to our concrete like mattress last time. So it could be just a matter of getting used to for a while longer. I hope so anyway!
  • I just bought a Memory Seal 800 Luxury Mattress for £340. Waiting for it to be delivered.

Tim, if you don't mind my asking, what would your opinion be? I think it's 55KG/M3, 6cm memory foam, 800 pocket. Hoping I've not just ordered a complete turkey!

Purely on the spec, 800 spring is fine but 1000+ is better, 6cm mem.foam is good, but it is non-turn which is not ideal. Effectively you've bought half a mattress for £340!

I have nasty feeling Slumberland are part of the dreaded Silentnight group though, hopefully Tim will know more... _pale_

Fret ye not! Ive just some research on them, and they appear to be seperate from the others after all, sorry :o I presumed as I saw them all advertised on the same sites.

The group they are part of are reputable, and quality doesn't appear to be compromised. See here.

They are part of the Hilding Anders Group, but are probably towards the bottom of their companies as far as quality goes. You may recall that a couple of people have mentioned in these forums that Dunlopillo's quality had dropped since Hilding Anders took them over.

This is why I advise to go for independent manufacturers who still have pride in their products, rather than increasing automation, and lowering quality to increase profits for their shareholders.
