Hi,
I bought a Kozeesleep zodiac mattress and it's just been delivered. Now the problem is that it appears to have the newer company Kozee Sleep logo on it but the website I bought from had the newer one - at least comparing it to what's been posted on here anyway. I rang them and they say that the older logo is the one used on the paperwork from the company they deal with hence the kozeesleep. Now I'm really confused. Have I ended up with a crap mattress?
Thanks0 -

I'm hoping someone will have some views on what i posted in the other thread as we haven't even decided 100% on divan or bedstead yet - just that we need a bigger bed!
You need to decide what type of base you want because it could make a big difference to the type of mattress you can use.0 -

If it haz this logo then it is the original company in Dewsbury0 -
I have not had a comfortable bed for many years, everything I buy seems ok at first but I soon find them uncomfortable for one reason or another. I always wake up with a sore shoulder, hip and upper back. My SIL has just bought a Relyon memory foam bed which she and her hubby raves about but when I lay on it, it felt very hard to me.
I also have bought one of Tim's beds in the past which was memory foam and pocket spring and again...it too, felt brick hard.
However, I've also had an Ikea bed which was sprung and softer but it sagged in the middle a bit and I ended up a bit banana shaped with a sore back in the morning.
I have no idea what I should be looking for now...all I know is I'm fed up and I want a comfy bed. The ONLY bed I've ever felt was just right (for the 10 minutes I was on it) was a Myers one which was sold in Reid Furniture stores and was memory foam and pocket sprung, but we hummed and hawed so much that they stopped selling it during the time were were undecided and I have no idea what it was called, nor do I know any details with which I could call the company with to check if it was sold elsewhere.
Am I wasting my time even considering a bed with memory foam again? I keep coming back to the foam/sprung option as I think they give better support but they just seem so hard. Are they all likely to be much and such the same?
I also am coming to the conclusion that my version of 'hard' isn't necessarily the same as other people's. Beds either seem to feel too hard or too soft, I can't find a happy medium.............even with the beds that are described as medium!
In fact...although I dont like the feeling of 'movement' or the noise or the cold surface....the only time I wake up with no aches and pains is when I sleep on the Aerobed air bed we have. :rolleyes:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Hi,
I came here and read most of this forum topic, was suitably enlightened and following the advice have purchased a new mattress, thank you for all the information.
I did come across this advice on purchasing a mattress which may be helpful to people
www. spine-health.com/wellness/sleep/choosing-best-mattress-lower-back-pain
and also this page
www. spine-health.com/wellness/sleep/how-evaluate-a-mattress
Unsure how to add links on forum so you will have to close the gap between the W. & s if pasting to browser
Just as a note: its a shame about the bit ching and brown nosing seen amongst this thread0 -

I didn't realise that Inverness also has Blindcraft where I bought my current bed far too many years ago to remember whenI did replace the mattress after 20 odd years!

Well, that's the one that's on their website and the one they said was the company they dealt with but the mattress doesn't have that logo it's more like the other one.0 -

The springs are surrounded by reflex foam to stop them falling over like dominoes. The memory foam is then on top to mould to the contours of your body. What you need to know off them is the density of the memory foam.
In the higher spec pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses they tend to use hand tufting and internal ties to support the springs.
I did a lot of research on foam mattresses and pillows because of very bad aches and pains. My osteopath says that the correct height of pillow is as important as the mattress - the head should not be above or below the level of the spine. I bought memory foam pillows from Dunelm and found an instant improvement. My partner always woke up with a bad back in the morning and this has disappeared. I believe our old pillows made of duck feather were too soft and low. I also invested in a Calypso mattress after checking out the advice given by Tim. It is fantastic - got it for £400 including delivery.
I do suffer from overheating in the night (not particularly made worse by the new bed), but if I keep off the type of foods that trigger this then I have found the mattress along with the pillow superb. I could stay in bed all day - however I have to get up as for the past 2 years I always wake up with a bad headache - but then that is another story and mystery.......
Obviously we are all different in our needs and my opinion is subjective - but I must thank Tim for all his input into this thread - my Calypso is wonderful. Because I have an electric blanket on the bed I have put back on top of the mattress a duvet so that I can't feel the wires - this also adds to the comfort.0 -

Marion, is the does the Calypso have memory foam? Just asking because we're after a new bed and I need an electric blanket and understood that you can't use one with memory foam.0 -

I wouldn't actually recommend the Calypso due to recent quality changes, but that's another issue which I can't go into on here.
PLEASE DON'T USE AN ELECTRIC BLANKET ON MEMORY FOAM. You will prevent the memory foam working properly. The memory foam needs your body heat to react with the memory foam. This will soften the memory foam so that it moulds to your body. The area of memory foam outside the area warmed by your body heat will stay cooler and firmer which is how it gives you support.
For the same reason don't use a duvet on top of the mattress.
If you don't like that cold feeling when you first get into bed, then use a flanlette sheet. Memory foam shouldn't feel as cold as normal mattress when you first get into bed anyway.0
