Kaupthing Edge

Ive just encountered my first problem with Kaupthing Edge. I made a withdrawal on Monday, entered withdrawal date as Tuesday but this has yet to appear in my current account causing it to go overdrawn. On the Kaupthing edge statement it is showing the withdrawal date as Tuesday.
The last withdrawal I made was exactly the same circumstances. The withdrawal date was Tuesday and it arrived in my current account on Thursday.
I have asked them why it is taking longer this time and waiting for their reply.
Of course, it may be the fault of the bank you have your linked account with.
I haven't needed to make any withdrawals from KE yet, but I have been impressed that the two payments in I've made from my HSBC linked account have appeared the very next day, so I guess at least one of them must be using the new fast-track payment system.

Kaupthing Edge definitely are not making fast payements as I called them last week and asked about this. They said they wont be doing them for a while as their clearing bank (Natwest) havent even done it themselves yet.Current Debt Owed To Family: [STRIKE]£12,575[/STRIKE] £9,000 :wall:Estimated Debt Free... I know my first £35k is protected, but all the time it is out of my hands if anything goes wrong, that is no interest.
I am starting to think I won't bother with these high paying accounts, opening them is a marathon. Two banks have sent back the certified copies, prepared in the way they requested on their info, saying they have to be re-done. I've told them to get lost, I will go with Tesco and Abbey and leave the balance of LloydsTSB at a lower interest.
Anyone else feeling cautious about some of these high paying new kids - or even old kids - on the block?
Why not then be ultra cautious and keep it under the bed. At least you will know where it is.0 -

hi all ,
i opened an account with kaupthing this week .
i received email with account details ect .
next day sent my first money to that account ( fortunatley i only sent £100 as a trial ) .
i was very glad i did this as the following day i received another email telling me not to use the original account number they sent me and have now given me another .
i phoned them up and the lady i spoke to couldn`t give me a proper answer only that the same thing had happened to someone else earlier that day and head office were looking into it .
doesn`t fill me with much confidence .
i will wait to see what happens on monday when i intend to call them again .
if i`m not satisfied i`ll open a yorkshire savings account .
much less interest but as least i know where the money is going .
will keep you informed as to what happens

Just to update, I have just recevied this reply from them
"I do sincerely apologise for the failure of the transaction.
We will chaps the payment to your nominated linked account first thing Monday morning."
They didnt give me a reason for the failure though.0 -

I suspect that they are hostage to their IT suppliers. There were clearly some major changes and 'upgrades' scheduled for last weekend and there was a message during the log-in process warning of some possible disruption. Having spent all my working life relying on IT financial systems, I know only too well how wrong these can go and how long it can take to get them right.
Hopefully it will have all settled down in a week or so.
