I am with AOL at present on platinium it is costly but we have never had any problems. We have 3 computers I am looking for a good provider with a reliable service and unlimted downloads. I really do want to change from AOL as i wish to save money but i cant risk changing and then finding the connection keeps going.

I was on AOL silver paying £14.99 per month. I then switched to Tiscali on the basis of price. 2 weeks later I demanded a MAC as they had totally failed to provide service and I had run up a bill of £30 speaking to their useless technical assistance people.
To cut a long story short, I'm now back with AOL on their wireless flexi package. Free wireless router, £4.99 for 3 months then £9.99. So far so good.
If you call AOL they will most certainly reduce the price if you say that you are off. In my experience changing ISP is never an easy thing. Tiscali made it much, much, much harder.0 -
Good morning: I am in broadband hell i.e. Tiscali. Go to the Thinkbroadband site and view users comments about the various internet providers (or non-providers in Tiscali's case:rolleyes: )/research and make your choice. I would recommend an ISP with a local rate or freephone customer service number. The cheapest isn't always the best moneysavings option.

What problem are you experiencing? Let me guess, underwhelmed by their customer services who don't return calls, reply to emails or letters,....
I'm now going the CISAS arbitration route.0 -
o2/Be are probably the best, and great value but you
need to be on a exchange thats been fitted with there
equipment.

If I could get o2/Be I'd jump at the chance. Fast speeds, much cheapness, just generally good quality broadband. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

I changed from PIpex to Idnet earlier this year. Definitely not the cheapest going, but as someone else said cheapest isn't always the best. They offer an 0800 number for Customer survices too:j £2 coins = £2.00 :j0

Called Aol tday & they have cut my cost by half I dint even have to say I was going to leave them i just asked them what packages they have as I am sick of paying 29.99" I would not change you for the world, but I would change the world for you"

Hi there,
I use eclipse - they are more expensive - I pay 14.99/month - but excellent - answer the phone - help when I had a problem (only happened once) and unlimited (fair use poilcy applies).
Good luck,
Potty0 -
I was going to ask a similar question to the OP, so can I jump in and say many thanks for all the advice on this thread. I was going dizzy trying to sort out an ISP that would suit my needs.
Went to Thinkbroadband, as advised, and finally settled for ADSL24. Great range of packages, very helpful on the phone, and as of today, are also offering ADSL2+ at speeds up to 24Meg. http://adsl24.co.uk/index.php
BTW, UKFSN looked good until I phoned. The guy on the phone treated me like a nuisance, and had the temperament of a pit-bull with toothache! If he was 'sales', I wonder what the rest of them are like?0 -

Maybe we should make a list of exasperated people, contact them en masse
btw anyone not happy, write to them and cancel, keep a copy of letter, cancel your direct debit, and move to talk talk. You DON'T need a mac code for talk talk. Costs 17 a month for BB line rental and eve/w/e calls and all customer service/tech support calls are free if you have their line
My mum says tiscali is a swear word in their house. It's fast becoming one here too, though luckily I havent pAID THEM ANYTHING. THEY ARE JUST CHASING ME FOR MONEY i DON'T OWE THEM!! oops soz
But my Dad has written countless letters and emails and made calls. he is has even written to the MD!!! NOTHING!!!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0
