Great post, MissW, made me laugh - I'd never dare take my OH shopping!
Just wondered if you could give me some advice on the witchhazel for bruises - what do you get and does it work? Is it the liquid stuff, or a cream or what? I'd really appreciate some advice here - I have a sports mad DS who is permanently covered in bruises - even now, when he's just doing cricket and tennis, so it gets much worse once the rugby and football seasons start! I'd thought about getting some arnica cream, but baulked at the price, haven't heard about using witchhazel so grateful for your feedback. TIA!
Hi
I used the witch hazel gel which was £1.99. I put a thin layer on my knee (which I managed to whack into the seat belt doofer while attempting to reach something on the back seat of the car from the front seat while OH was doing 70+ along the A12 :rotfl: ) it hurt like hell for a day because the bruise wasn't out so I put the witchhazel on and it brought the bruise out, today the bruise is yellowy and doesn't hurt half as much.

I have only just got into bootsing (because my card took a year to work!), I would love to be able to do my niece a no17 make up basket for her 16th birthday in August, unfortunately I missed getting the eye and lip pallets, does anyone have any suggestions as to wear to get them from (been trying ebay but nothing yet), or want to swap me some for some vouchers or something?
Thanks for any ideas!Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0 -

I was going to say calendula (marigold) cream too but I think that's more of a healing cream for broken skin. It might come in handy for scrapes though.
My midwife recommended this for cracked nipples when I was learning how to breastfeed my first baby and I can vouch that it really does work takes out the ouch, cheesegrater effect very quickly too :rotfl:0 -
Hiya folks,
I know a few of us have picked up the ROC gift packs for various reasons, but I thought I'd let you know although my pack had an expiry date of April 2009 on a label on the box, when I opened the box and had a look, the dates on the products are totally different.
The night cream (biggest tube) has a date of 10/09 so that's ok.
The eye cream (middle size tube) has a date of 06/09 so that too is ok.
The serum (3ml tiny tube) has an expiry date of 03/09.
Although it's still quite good dates on them if your giving them as presents this year, they serum might not be a long enough date if your planning on giving it someone for Christmas who might leave it a month or two before using it.
Please girls and guys check your dates just to be on the safe side that they do indeed match what it says on the box!0 -

Brilliant, thanks for the advice, for £1.99 I'll give it a go.
Thanks to you and GL for taking the time to reply - personal advice is always so helpful, you're both:A0 -
