That is ridiculous! You only have to spend £5 to get a tillspit so it's hardly unlikely that you might have spent £60 odd in Boots since this promotion started, is it? What a horrid SA. I hope you gave her name to CS as this is totally out of order. I would have asked to speak to the manager there and then as to accuse you of fraud is ridiculous.

Thanks Geordielass for that 'would you make a good boots employee?' link - I did the quiz, and then... applied for a job in boots! :j (2 actually!) So hopefully I'll be able to see what it's like 'on the other side' and see if senior management are telling the SAs to be more mean with vouchers! Also, great result mrsbluebear!

That's weird, I mean good for you that it works, but I bought it too, I have dry hair but whenever I put it on at night, no matter how dry my hair is, in the morning it feels sort of sticky and matted and not soft at all!

Also, dotchas - what can I say except you're incredibly brave, it's so inspriring. My mother had breast cancer which means my risk is increased, and I only hope I'd be able to deal with it as well as you are. :A I really wish you a speedy recovery, but I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine as they've caught it early.

If I were you I would also write to the store manager and tell them what you've told us and include ths SA's name.

All the years I've worked for boots we've never been told to do anything like that!! the till can prompt you to take the card or destroy it but this is very rare!

the stupid SA thought she had authority to do this but they don't!

Also - how on earth could you 'fraud' boots out of tillspits?! They only come out when you spend £5 so you can't even trick them with vouchers, so short of actually fiddling the self service machines or something you couldn't even do it! I agree, although I'm usually quite meekI would have asked to see someone about this and definitely rung CS while I was in the store! How dare they!:mad:

lots of skin care reduced at derby kingsway (on clearance shelf) including ROC and simple. Also had some model me stuff reduced

I picked up 2 ROC hydra + priced at 3.00 each, was expecting to pay 1.00 for both as had £5 manuf coupon, however they went through at 1.50 each
Got 50 ml JF serum 5.98 expecting to pay 1.98 (-2 hair care and -2 JF coupon) however as i was in credit on my ROC coupon. Total to pay 0
+ another hair care voucher + 24 AC points, i'm well happy with my "free" shop !!

That's awful! They were just till spits, right? I'd like to know how that's fraud! I used four today with one SA and have 4 or 5 left, and it's because I spend too much money in Boots that I have so many till spits! If they are happy to take your money and give you a till spit each time, you can spend it or else sue them for making false claims!

I honestly think it's a case that some SAs have been told to keep an eye on people using lots of coupons, and some of them are too dense to differentiate between what might be a bit fishy -- like using multiples of the same coupon in one transaction or using ACM coupons that aren't in your name -- and what isn't at all fishy, like using the till spits. It reminds me of a case where a woman in a motorized wheelchair was not allowed to get on a bus because the driver said they couldn't take anything with motors! It turns out there had been some new regulation that I think was aimed at mobility scooters but not at wheelchairs, but he thought it best to follow the rules (that he didn't understand) to the letter and leave a disabled woman stranded. He probably used to work at Boots.

Quick question for the long-timers on here - do Boots ever reduce their sunglasses? Knew I should have got a pair when the last spit was on (had a pair but now they've broken ! :rolleyes: ) Off on hols in August and was wondering whether to wait a week or so in case they started reducing them or they have a promotion on them.
