Useless Halifax

  • Did you lot know that for a limited period there is a new Halifax Web Saver Reward account available offering 5.80% which is virtually if not exactly the same as the outdated Variable rate Websaver without the card but the difference is the higher interest guaranteed for a year.

These are the Web and Regular Savers I have got with the Halifax.

    Halifax Regular Saver - 10%
Halifax Web Saver - Regular Saver nominated account - 4.20 - I just keep a pound in this.
Halifax Web Saver with card - 4.17 - I use this alongside my Halifax Current Account to get more inteest than 0.10%
Halifax Web Saver Reward - 5.80

  • unfortunately - this account is usually opened by banking advisers only. meaning that in a small branch you may have 2 full timers equivalent, medium 3, and large 4-5 and maybe more. the branch could have 20 appointments already in there when someone walks in.

i understand what you are saying but the cashiers can't open the account , nor the reception

the call centre open them and can be done on=line

what we've done where we work, is some customers filled in the application forms and id checked, and then the account was keyed later (when branch closed) and paperwork posted

I understand what you are saying but if this is the norm then it is simply not acceptable. The first company that adjusts their procedures to ensure the customer gets what it wants, when it wants, will capture the market. Business has completely lost the plot and untill they realise that they are there to serve the customer, and not the other way round, customers will continue to take their custom elsewhere.

But I didnt speak to the cashier. I walked into my branch and an adisor took me into their office, talked through the account and set it all up! :j
To be fair I didnt have any questions to ask her as I knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted to account to be set up as I would never walk into a bank without an idea of what I want to do. Otherwise you get different answers from different people :p

yep you went in on spec, i think my reply was to someone else , not you
