Just wondered if anyone knows if there is an option to pay the difference of £4 to upgrade to a weekend ticket at Excel ?? I have printed weekday tickets but would prefer to go over the weekend. I am sure I just read this somewhere on the BMS site, but I can't find the text....,perhaps the heat is making me see things I want to see!

Lol - i was kind of going mad. I have just found the text that confirms this - it is not on the BMS site, but it was in an email that I received from BMS earlier today......(dated 26th July)

    ON NOW!

If you had a ticket for earlier in the week and didn't make it to the show, don't worry, weekday tickets can still be used on any one weekday, weekend tickets can be used on any one day of the show.

(Weekday tickets can be upgraded to weekend tickets by paying the difference on the door

Phew! Hope that helps some of you. £4 per ticket is not bad at all!
I recall they did something like this for Ideal Home Exhibition Weekday tickets.

And thanks to MBN who's on another post but DID reply.
Too far away for me anyway but would have been nice if someone could have just acknowledged my question!

If you'd clicked the link in the OP, it clearly says British Motor Show, Excel, London :confused:

I think that's why nobody answered. It was a pretty lazy question!

I didn't see it to be honest, not until now anyway.

I would have replied if I'd seen it when it was posted, but my reply would have been the same! :D

  • My Oh and kids went last week (unfortunately not free tickets  ) and the kids got an hours free sailing from one of the boat stands outside. They had a brilliant time and want to go again next year.

Do take food though, that was pricey.

Thank you very much OP. We went on Saturday and had a great time, got loads of freebies and entered lots of competitions. We stayed there the whole day and if you want to take a packed lunch you can get a hand stamp to go to your car. Were a few stars there as well so keep your eye's peeled.

    Thank you again OP
Thanks for any help and advice given

We are all set up to go on the last day. Because of the distance involved for us it will be a bit expensive (approx £100 in fuel in total and an overnight stay in a nearby hotel - £55 for family room of 4). However, we have never been to a motor show and as a family day out it sounds like it will be worth the money. We are looking forward to it. I plan to drive myself so will need the sat-nav. I will take packed lunches as advised too. Does anyone know how much the parking onsite costs? I believe there is no congestion charge at weekends either - is this correct?? Are there any nearby (cheap or free) activities I can pad the day out with. Thanks everyone for the info.

onsite parking is £10 for the day which is cheaper then usual for Excel

it is outside the congestion area so depending on where u are coming from that shouldnt be a problem

there are bumper cars at the Zurich stand the kids can go on, lots of different playstations on various stands, some are sat inside WTC cars so u the kids (big and small) can get more of a feel.....outside there are remote control cars ... all of these are free

my son liked getting in the cars and picking up freebies (lol trained him well)... u could also bluetooth some wallpapers and games at a couple of the stands

i've seen a few ppl say this, because all the car parks are pay n display is that like a flat fee for then upto 24 hours

would it be less if you didnt spend a whole day [10am-9pm] there ?

also is any one car park [blue/yellow/purple/orange] better than another for being closest ?

    TIA...
