hi,

i am going on holiday to magaluf in spetember for 10 days. im a little confused on how best to take my money with me. i am looking to take 900-1000 for the trip.
i was thinking of taking 500 in euros changed up at the post office and then withdrawing 500 if/when needed out there. i have a halifax debit card.
but after reading the guides i am a bit confused to what would be the best option for me.
as you can prob tell im quite new to all this so could do with a little help!

i want to a little cash with me just in case i dont find an atm straight away.

Hi All,

Going to Canada in 3 weeks and wondering what the current best means of getting acces to my cash is. I currently have a nationwide card for dedicated holiday usage, which used to give me free access to cash at ATM etc, but I notice this now charges. We tend to take cash from ATM and spend, but occassionally carry out transactions on the card as well. Looking for cheap usage in Canada, America, as well as Europe. I'm fed up of issues with my Neteller mastercard prepaid also, so a card which would double up for booking ryanair flights also would be great. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The answer Halifax Clarity card is probably the best for this as mine worked fine in Canada. They just need to be able to process it in time...

I currently have a multitude of halifax accounts so will pop in at lunchtime and have a word. 3 weeks should surely be enough time?:beer:

I'm responding to your link about being bored telling people to get a Sterling Card in post #1491.

I didn't want to trouble you for risk of boring you so I did a Google search to find the Sterling Card you recommended and came up with the Neteller Sterling Card.

So I was asking the question is the card you recommended a card from hell?

Has anyone used the Tesco credit card to purchase euros online ?? - seems they dont charge any cash advance fees etc. So today it shows £503.16 for 550 euros. Am I correct that the £503.16 is all that will be charged to the card and then I pay it off like an ordinary purchase with no hidden fees?

Assuming you are buying them from Tesco Travel Money, then AFAICS the answer is yes
