Something else which has occured to me with cards which charge interest from day 1, is to ensure you can pay the card whilst abroad. In the Nat West case you need a card reader to set up a DD and complete the first transaction, after that you don't need it with you.0

Hi,
We are having a family trip to Florida and disneyland etc. the whole works. Just checking out the best prices for spending, tickets etc. Any tips or details of special offers would be much appreciated. Thank you. Not bee to the US before, can you still use Travellers cheques and are there any risks to watch out for, e.g. scams, rip offs and the like.

Credit cards are the norm, so use the appropriate one such as Halifax Clarity.
Based on the South West, prices overall can be cheaper especially fuel of course, beer limited quality, meals far larger than necessary, but tips of around 15% are expected. Allow for serious wait at immigration (although I may have been unlucky)
You are aware of the entry rules?

Santander Debit Card
Spending penalty: £1.25. Load fee: 2.75%. Cash withdrawal: 1.5% min £1.99
Although this is normally a card from hell it is one of the best cards for withdrawing cash in Spain provided you use a Santander Bank cash machine and debit the card in Euros.
I can confirm there are no loading fees or commission even if you still have an old Alliance & Leicester card.

As far as I know, it is not automatic, it is only those who pay £1000 a month in their current a/c, normally PICR current a/c.
The better option is Santander Zero 'Debit card' if you pay £1000 a month in the a/c, it works the same way as Metro Bank Debit Card, so it could be used in many cash machines around the world. Some people have confirmed about this ..Although this is normally a card from hell it is one of the best cards for withdrawing cash in Spain provided you use a Santander Bank cash machine and debit the card in Euros.

Please don't use the link above to apply for an ESTA as that site charges $55 processing fee.

I've tried to order £300 in euros for a visit to Spain via travelmax. I have tried travel budget, tesco etc but have been declined. Travel budget say its because my address does not match the billing address which is absolute rubbish as I have banked with Barclasy for 36 years and nothing else has been a problem. Its because I don't have alandline nor want one, why is it that I need a landline?
Also travel budget say they have cancelled the transaction and refunded my money into my account at Barclays, this begs the question if my bank have refused the transaction how can they refund money they never got?
I'll go on the high street and get it that way but waht a carry on!!!0
