Help with son's pc acting up ???

Hiya,

I've found 2 viruses on my PC, they are Win32:trojan-gen
and my son's so far is win32:neptunia-yo

Do i move them to the chest or delete them please?

I know it's probably easier just reformatting both machines, but i've got loads on mine and so has my son so it would have to be the last option.

As we share a network, is there anyway i can stop his pc passing stuff to mine (sorry not techie terms!lol ) ?

This is the second time this has happened with him DL viruses and not looking after his PC (regular spyware checks etc) Honestly either going to take it off him or get something like a net nanny (he's 13) Do you think that's fair, or me being cranky at spending my whole day off trying to sort it out lol x

No program is 100%, but I do find SuperAntispyware finds what those programmes do and more, it is also update more often and therefore you have the latest definitions.

I agree, I have in the past recommended more than one scanner but generally under supervision.

I am not disagreeing with you but merely offering an alternative.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:

1. Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6 and save it to your desktop.
2. Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE)6 Update 7...allows end-users to run Java applications".
3. Click the "Download" button to the right.
4. Select your Platform: "Windows".
5. Select your Language: "Multi-Language".
6. Read the License Agreement, and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
7. Click Continue and the page will refresh.
8. Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
9. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
10. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
11. Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
12. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
13. Follow the onscreen instructions for the Java uninstaller.
14. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
15. Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
16. Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe
17. Follow the on screen instructions to install the latest Java version.

I'm using the defrag tool on superantispyware and its going to take 5hours to defrag his pc, can that be right?
