You have a pair of sheets on your bed....Remove the BOTTOM sheet for laundry & use the top sheet as the 'fresh' bottom sheet & a clean sheet for the top. Repeat ad infinitum:D0

surely that means you have removed the clean sheet and have now covered a dirty sheet with a clean one???Mummy to Oliver - 28/10/09

Some people never sleep with a top sheet, only a bottom one, letting their bodies come into contact with the duvet cover as their top sheet. This makes it very sweaty in hot weather meaning you have to wash it pretty regularly. In my book, it's much easier to wash sheets than it is to wash a duvet cover especially if you have to struggle to replace a king size duvet cover single handed!0

In this weather we've dispensed with our duvet all together and just use a duvet cover, so there's no struggling to be done at all...0 -
Soz guys:o ..didn't mean to sound scanky, but it's the way me muvva always did it at home. Obviously, it will only apply if the sleepee is not of the excessive leaking variety..
Mum still has a double bed even tho Dad has been passed 15 years, so she turns the bottom sheet around so Dad's 'side' gets used too. Me muvva's weird like that--gets comfy on her right side & stays like that all night. Now me....I wake up feeling like I've been boogie-ing all night & my youngest has always been such a fidget that I would end up on the floor whilst a two year old had a full double bed to themselves:oFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I occasionally forget to take something out of the freezer in time to defrost thoroughly in the fridge. However, a pack of bacon quickly defrosts and, if necessary, can be helped by immersing in cold water in the sink for 15 minutes. Then I simply cut half the rashers into strips and again into small pieces. These can then either be added to vegetables in my steamer, or frying pan, and literally cook in minutes. Simply increase the number of packs depending on the number of people needing fed!
Obviously, people with a microwave have the option of using it to defrost food but why use (expensive) electricity to do something that happens for free?0 -

I would just suck on them frozen like a bacon lolly.Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -
I've used my tumble drier twice in the last twelve months. Both times, it was to help a visitor who'd got soaked in the rain and needed dry clothes before going home.
On all other occasions, I look at the weather forecast and wait for a sunny day before doing the laundry. Everything dries on the line - if there's an unexpected shower, I either finish stuff off in the airing cupboard, or else on a fold-up drying rack in the kitchen.
Tumble driers eat electricity.0 -
About ten years ago, I was getting problems with an itchy scalp - even though I was using a hypoallergenic shampoo.
I was spending a week at a folk festival where no one expects you to look your best while camping in a field, so I took a chance and started washing my hair in clean water only. The first week was a bit oily, but I decided to stick with it. It took a couple of months for it to settle down completely (your scalp works overtime to replace all the oils you keep shampooing out of it, so it takes a while for it to realise that it doesn't need to do this any more)
I'm still doing this ten years later - my hair looks and feels great. (Having talked to my friends, I've been surprised by how many other people do this as well)
I've probably saved a small fortune in shampoo and conditioner. (and as I'm not forcing my scalp to work overtime to replace lost oils, I actually have to wash my hair less often than most people, so I save on hot water as well)0 -
We always made our children have a large glass of water to drink before we would take them out to the local pub for dinner. Othewise their drink was gone as soon as they sat down.
We do this ourselves and the first round now lasts longer, not that we have been out for dinner for months.0
