I watched the programme too, I am usually very adept at 'money saving' and am always doing my best to get the cheapest/best value whatever etc etc, but for some reason I have just left my gas and electricity with the companies that supplied my house when it was built in 2005.
Just dug my bills out - electricity with npower, on what I presume is their standard rate, 13.200p for the first 182 kwh, then 10.980p for remaining units. I currently pay £37 per month direct debit.
gas with EDF energy, Single Fuel IGT Tariff DD, first 1461 kwh at 5.649p, remaining units at 2.387p. I currently pay £42 per month direct debit.
I have had a quick surf around comparison sites, but it is a total minefield, especially as they all charge different amounts for the first certain amount of units, then another price for the remainder... it's almost impossible to compare (well for me anyway)!
Any advice greatly appreciated.0 -
I've just seen this post, I'm outraged that you can be a member of this fabulous site, and make these horrid remarks about Martin...:mad:Well !! A classic Government Tactic is..... to make you believe something will rise by a higher amount (ie 40%) so when it `only` rises by 20% then you are a happy little subject.
What we should be saying is "No We`ve had enough" 20% is far too much also. We are ripped off left right and centre. I`m sure the guys at the top aren`t suffering from fuel prices.
I think Martin has sold out to the Devil... The Tonight program is so deep in the governments pocket its banging on it`s kneecaps. Spread the word!
He has been a lifeline to thousands of people!
Disgraceful comments.................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -

OK let me put it this way... The tonight program probably had about 6 million viewers.. a lot of which are now attemptimg to pay an extra 10% for there energy bill. (wether they save in the long run or not, the companies are gonna be raking it in tomorrow.. thanks to our Martin)0
