  • Get a Henry! Old fashioned I know but cheap and copes with all sorts of surfaces. It doesn't need a bag and goes anywhere.
Ours deals with 2 cats, a toddler and a baby and is doing very well after 12 months. The fancy Hoover Cyclonic we bought lasted 4 weeks. My OH is so smug about this it's untrue!

  • I have had a Miele vacuum cleaner for almost ten years now. No problems what so ever and it's cleaning brilliantly!! I've never even replaced a part apart from the dustbags and filters. (And with Miele, you know that you can get the bags years and years later, even after they have stopped manufacturing that model!!)

My parents have had a Miele for the past twenty years and it's still doing a great job, so I'm definitely looking into Miele when I'm replacing any other things at home!! :o

After 3 Dysons gave up on me after about 1 year each I bought a Henry.
Absolutely great - have had the same one for about 5 years now. Every time I visit the Tip with rubbish I am always amazed at how many Dysons have been discarded.

Here here for Henry! He is the greatest!

We have had Henry for about 5 or so years now and he just does every job you can think of really easily! I plug him in the kitchen downstairs and he goes all the way up the stairs and I can get every room done upstairs without having to unplug.
He is also great on all the different flooring types we have around the house...e.g laminate, carpet, lino. Fantastic also for the car!
Blimey I sound like a Henry rep!:o I promise I'm not...I just think he is one of the best vacuum cleaners around.

We bought an Onn vacuum cleaner from Asda about 6 months ago for about £60 - it's very similar to the Dyson, has the same attatchments etc, but it's far more efficient than the Dyson we had previously. It's awesomely powerful and has HEPA filtration. The only downside is that it's on the noisy side, but I have got round that by making hubby vac up while me and the kids hide upstairs and pretend to be scared of it....:rotfl:

  • After unpteen Dysons, we were at a loss at to what to buy! Reading Which and deciding what we really wanted from a vacuum cleaner, we decided to go for a SEBO. The power driven head makes it easy to use and it steers VERY easily. The only drawback being that we had to go back to bags. This however is a small surmountable problem. On the other hand, having 2 dogs, Westie's, the drum on the Dysons we had eventually began to small. Now we have NO more smelly vacuum.

In short, the vacuum I recommend is the SEBO Felix!
