:hello:to all the newbies!
I have been working today, and so have done no flying. Huge catch up tomorrow, if I have time, as it looks very busy. I have to take DS1 to the fracture clinic first thing, and then garden for a friend, then it's DS2's sports afternoon, and he's doing loads of things, so I just have to be there.
It has rained the whole day today. I expect by the time I get back down to the allotment the slugs and snails will have eaten all the plants and seedlings...
TAG - another author to add to my list!
Dusty - well done to both your DS's, you must be very proud of them I was a bit mystified by the idea of being chosen to do the Dof E as I thought the whole idea was that it was accessible to all - were there loads of children that wanted to do it then? My DS1 did most of the Bronze, then failed to get all the book signed (fairly typical.) He didn't start Gold because he was one month too young to do it with his friends. DS2 is doing his Bronze at the moment.
GnB - happy to hear your DD is doing well - she sounds very brave indeed.
ifits - hugs.
hex - I know I shouldn't and it really isn't funny, but I did giggle a bit. I should lock them in separate rooms and have a very large alcoholic drink. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
In this household - GIN
I'll second that - and have a double !
Electra - there's a recipe here that would probably work for you. I might give it a go myself at some point.

Well I managed to stay at work all day but it was a close call on the way there. The pesky new temp traffic lights are still there (memo to self - leave at 7am tomorrow not 7.20am) and I had to sit in a queue for half an hour and became more and more desperate for a pee. Finally got into the office, flung my coat on my chair, the dog's lead into the hand of a surprised colleague and only just made it to the loo without wetting myself. If I'd been in that queue another five minutes, I would have had to go home again to change....
But, the kidney ache has only twinged a couple of times in the day. I've been forcing water down myself to help flush things through and have made about 4 times as many trips to the ladies today as I normally do. But, it's not getting any worse, so I'll just continue the treatment. i'm have a medicinal gin this evening - after all, alcohol is a natural disinfectant isn't it?
And the rain? It's been persistant all day. It's like October! I have friends coming over for a barbecue on Saturday evening (to celebrate my birthday which is on Sunday - no don't ask how many!) - the weather had better buck up for then! So I need to fly a bit tonight. I've a meeting almost straight after work tomorrow then I plan to go to Mr T's on the way home from that to buy the food for Saturday so tomorrow night, no flying will be done. But, at least the food will be in and I won't have to go out on Saturday - I'll have all day to prepare.
Right, off to boil up the chicken carcass from Sunday for chicken stoup tonight, clean out the fish tanks, put the breadmaker on and muck out the living room.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Ifits huge hugs for you
Serena DofE is new to the school. They asked interested kids to apply and said they would choose those who they thought would see it through. Not sure how many applied and how many were accepted. I must go to the website before the meeting (in september) as I know very little about it.
Hex OMFG was it a steristrip at home job or a trip to A&E?
Kids fed, DS2 made the chicken nugets for me.
Giving DS3 15 minutes then bathtime for him and I'll finish my bedroom whilst he is in there. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
