If it is so awful why don't you leave? Don't let the door hit you in the @rse when you're leaving;)
Told you - I was stupid enough to hook up with a Welshman - now have kids, both happy at school and no wish to be moved and upset! Not their fault at all that I made a carp decision (or two or three) that I have lived to regret quite often, nor their fault that their "other" family were born pig ignorant!"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

I've found that too, and also Swansea and Llanelli - most of the people around here are friendly as well - but I sometimes just miss being within easy reach of civilisation (here is more like the tip of Cornwall than Cardiff) and the shops and would love to be treated with a little more courtesy with the language thing. Have tried desperately hard to learn but cannot follow conversations for long as everyone speaks so fast, and if there are several people involved I find it impossible! Can read it quite well - but hearing not great in a crowd anyway (old age and a miss-spent youth at loud rock concerts) and just cannot keep up.
Worse places to live I know - but can be soooo lonely here."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
Best & final offer? £50 Why not eh? Especially if everyone else is too scared to bid - I get a dodgy house in wales (which I can let out to Pastures New for £50pcm) & con gets an extra 8 years, since he can't pay his £2.5M fine.
Job's a good'un"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

If you're renting it out it'd need to come with a gardener and pool boy included in that £50/month you know!Guy_Montag wrote: »Best & final offer? £50 Why not eh? I'd only live in one room. The sunniest one. And I'd spend my days sat in the sun watching the pool boy and gardener (I get to choose him and he'll be fit!).
That council tax would be a killer though. £1650/year (with single person discount). That's 4x what I pay on my bedsit!0 -

Erm...what exactly were you watching the gardener do to the pool boy?

Good question ... if I get broadband and some cams, I could have a nice little sideline going on there... Pay Per View. "The pool boy gives the gardener a hand". Followed by: "Roger the pool boy". And by Xmas I could be broadcasting "Up to his b4lls in peat/pete"Erm...what exactly were you watching the gardener do to the pool boy?

Yeah it's a bit sh!te that he pays 4 times what I pay in cooncil tax for 4.5 acres as I pay for 36sqm. except he doesn't, since cons don't have to pay while they're in chokey.PasturesNew wrote: »If you're renting it out it'd need to come with a gardener and pool boy included in that £50/month you know!
