Tesco reduced food items (multibuy)

lol! I get to reduce items to whatever price I want. But I get used to what items sell and what don't!
For part of my job its the computer that tells me what to reduce and at what price!
But I never reduce all items by a set amount and then again by another because some items would never sell that way.
My job is to get the items sold! It means less work at the end of the night for me to because i have to waste all the reduced items at the end of the night!0 -
Well, if they've done it the way you describe, that's stupid.
The whole point of reducing stuff is to get it out of the door.
If something's on BOGOF at £2.99 and then reduced to £2, they should do what Sainsbury's do and let you have it BOGOF at £2.
Making you pay £4 for 2 reduced things, instead of £2.99 for 2 non-reduced things, is patently absurd.
Why don't you write to Tesco and complain 'cos I would?
I think you may have misunderstood the OP (unless I have!).. for one thing it wasn't a BOGOF.
he/she expected it to be calculated like:
£2 + £2 - £.98 (total cost £3.02)
ie. the cost of the two reduced items minus the £1 discount you would get if you bought two fullpriced items (2.99+2.99 - .98) as part of the "two for £5" offer. They call me Mr Pig!0 -

iceland also do that if there is a bogof and then they reduce it they still let you have the bogof

NOW WHAT ARE WE ALL TO DO?????? HELP0 -
Sainsbury & Tesco appear to have closed the loophole on BOGOF's but NOT on multibuys like 3 for price of 2 or e.g. "Buy 2 for £2" as these must be too difficult for the soltware. If you go for a reduced BOGOF, suggest you put a second item of unreduced through after the reduced one - at least it's not at/near the sell by date. And you never know, the c/o operator might put them both through as reduced by mistake??0

I've noticed that any recent markdowns at my local Tesco aren't too generous on items that are on offer. I recently queried an example of 2 chicken's for £4 which were marked down to £1.90 each. Wow. :-/0

well, when you buy 2 items from the same range on BOGOF but one is cheaper than the other, the cheapest is the free one. Can't see it being different with a reduced one. They call me Mr Pig!0 -

wasn't in my Tesco. Depends on their date too....
The best time to buy reduced items (in my store anyway) is about 8pm! Everything is being reduced really low if they are going out of date that day because I don't want the extra hassle in wasting them!0 -

You are correct. The computer system cannot cope with multibuys that is why when I reduce multibuys I just reduce half of them and hide some in the back of the self so people will hopefully (although it never happens) lift one reduced and one not!0 -
I had an argument with the checkout manager of my local Tesco once, where a product was marked (with a sticker) BOGOF and also reduced. If a product has a sticker on it saying "buy one get one free", then they have to honour it.0
