How to get 4 kids in a citroen xsara picasso

  • Hi,

I looked on the Citroen website under acessories (for the Xsara Picasso) and also tried the build your own model section (again for Xsara Picasso) neither had the option of purchasing more "seats"

I guess in your shoes I would check with the service department, but tbh I do not recall seeing that model with anything other that 5 seats.... The c4 I have seen with 2 seats in the boot but that isn't much use as I think it is a lwb version

Next I would phone up the finance company and ask for a redepmtion figure to see if there actually is any penalty as such (other than depreciation etc) and then I would find a babysitter - go to the garage get a valuation and haggle like crazy. The only other alternative I can think of would be for one adult to travel by other means.

    Good luck.

C4 Picasso Grand has 7 seats, but they're not cheap. We'd love one, but I don't think it's going to be this year...

Regarding road tax and the Xsara Picasso - we've got a 2L HDi, and as far as I can tell the car tax will actually be getting a bit cheaper.
  • I think that we want to stick with this car for a while, so it might be cheaper to actually buy an older fiesta or metro for the other adult. Then in a year or two think about something that takes us all.

unless you need 2 cars it would be worth considering the cost of insuring, taxing, servicing, MOT-ing, parking and maintaining a second car - as well as the cost of buying it. you may find it cheaper and easier all round to get a 6/7 seater.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.

Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.

MSE Aim: To have more "thanks" than "posts"! :T

Got the same model here on an 03 plate and as far as I can tell the tax will be £5 dearer next year , not cheaper .

We've just discovered we're going to have the exact same problem next year. At first we thought about changing the picasso for a six/seater, but decided that it just wouldn't be financially sensible - especially as it would mean DH driving a seven seat gas guzzler to work every day, just for the rare occasion when the six of us go somewhere together.

If we need six seats, it means there's two adults, and so we'll just have to take two cars. We are lucky in that we do already have a second car, so we will have to see how that arrangement goes for a couple of years, and then think about a seven seater when we're ready to change cars.
