:hello: Hello everyone i started my diary a month ago maybe and just found this page can i join please because i too feel pretty crap about our situation istarted out positive but then got a bill with an intrest of 140 quid so i was pretty peeeed off put m on a downer, im in a predicament because im getting married next august after cancelling this years i should have been getting married on the 16th but we realised we hadnt the money and the debt was important so i downsized by a good 10 grand for next year so now im attempting to save 4,500 before june next year ... ive stopped using the credit cards....im trying to save what we can but not having much luck......grrrrr im 24 oh is 30 so we would like to get shut of the debt to make a fresh start in a new home thats big enough to start a family, currently living in a 1 bedroom groundfloor flat with one flat above us.... it will do for now but with the credit crunch i am hoping to take the opportunity to clear off some good debt... the high intrest ccs will have to be balance transferred to a lower intrest card but we have to clear it off first to make it a substantial amount otherwise what is the point.... anyway enough about me i look forward to sharing my journey withu aswell as my diary xx

Welcome Amy!! Good to have you part of our little group. We have been quiet recently but do have some moments of madness!!! I wish you best of luck with your debt busting, do come and share your progress with us regularly. I have been reading your diary so I am pleased you found our little group.

Hi MillieM, sorry to hear about your shower, I am in denial about our boiler and whether or not it may work when we turn the heating on later in the year!! Like you we paid for shower repair earlier in the year these things come along and throw all the good plans up in the air don't they.

At least the sun is out today, I think I am going to visit town and spend my birthday vouchers.

Hello Ruby, thanks for reading my diary ive decided il be saving for my wedding and making just above minimum payments on the cards until i reach my target save then il happilythrow all ive got at the debts!! it seems so hard to get by when you keep having day to day crisis damn bills and house problems... better get off to work got patients waiting for me lol speak soon all tata for now x x

Hello Tony,dont worry il be gentle with you ...support is what i need if im going to come out on top... only recognised a month ago that i needed to start doing something about debt im so mad at myself lol and the damn companys for loaning me the money haha..... id love just to win the lottery and wipe it off hehe ......anyway oh get paid tomorrow so will be paying some bills well before due date so no late fees can be given ha ! torture i tell you torture...im looking at ways toget the cards oved around on the cards we have save on som emuch needed intrest te he ... hope all you people have had a productive day xx

My goodness,this is probably our longest spell with posting!!! How are we coping without each other!!!! Hope everyone is ok and stayingpositive! Been an ok week for me, didnt start off too well, but guess what ladies?? ....I saw my daughter yesterday for the first time in over a year - she is absolutely gorgeous (naturally of course with a dad like me!!!!!) - but it has made myweek! M ex-wife tried to throw a last minute spanner in the works but realised that with all the court orders and everything I have been through over the past 12 months better of it! Doesnt this month seem to have gone on forever??? Payday next Thursday, but my last company have not sent my P45 through,so I think I am going to take a tax hit! Other good news was the car allowance from my last company which they didnt pay me, they have now agreed to, that is worth just over £2k and they should be sending me a cheque in the next 10 days! Just also waiting for my cheque from HMRC - Kel have you had yours yet???

Get anything nice with the birthday vouchers Rubi? I know you were going to use them for something else, but you do need a treat also. My Next giftcard when Ileft my last job, I used half for a photo frame for the kids and the other half to pay a bit off my account.

Morning Tony, all is well in the land of Amy , i lost a pound a t slimming world yippeeee....also me and oh have got bank charges back they willbe making there way to my account in the next few days then it will be transferred straight to our new joint account and into savings for the wedding hehehe..... we decided not tto ask for money for the weddigbut shopping vouchers for ikea, sainsburys m and s, debenhams thenat least some of it can be used for some well deserved expensive food free of charge hehe :P......other than that im feeling ok the road just seems so long i wish people would post more often here :P hehe i may make it my daily job to keep this front page :P ... Tony how wonderful about you daughter so pleased you had a wonderful thing happen.... everyone else hope to catch you soon xxx:o

Hi guys,
Tony, that is brilliant news and it sounds like you enjoyed every minute, I am pleased for you.

Amy, you are doing really well and always sound so upbeat, although the road is long just keep reminding yourself that you are in a better place than you were a few months ago.

I'm good guys, still managing to stay in CR in our new account and putting money by weekly for things like car tax, mot, bus pass for ds, after school club for DD and xmas. This is such I change for us and is making us feel great, we only wish we had done it years before.

As for the debts well the interest is the killer all round, got a letter yesterday saying the OD interest rate has gone up!!! b&gger.

BUT
we did cap our gas and electricity in May (thanks to Martin) and EON our supplier announced huge hikes yesterday so that is something.

Anyway guys, have a stinking cold and feel like crawling back into bed, but have two kids to keep entertained, so I am going to go and get another hot drink and tackle the huge ironing pile and hope that the little ones are happy to amuse themselves.

Look forward to hearing from everyone soon and lets try and not leave so much time in between posts next time.

Hello Amy and Rubi, hope you have had good days today, hope the cold is better but not surprised you have got one given the change in weather from one day to the next! Rubi is right Amy,you always sound so positive and we have all been so supportive of each other since July, that its good to have someone else like that in the group! I have had a really tough month in August and even though I have not posted as often, its the thought that knowing I can get support from you guys that has really helped!

Amy which bank did you get your charges back from? I have chased my tax refund today and they say it might not be looked at yet for another 3 weeks, its so frustrating!

Whats everyone got planned for the bank holiday????

hello tony, hello ruby, im upbeat well i try to be haha ... some days are so soul destroying when your looking at intrest but nay mind eh we keep plugging.... just come back for afternoon nap from a wedding will be returning to the night do.... we have little cash so we are trying not to buy so much :S how embarrasing lol..... anyway id like to see more of this board.... hehe i got my bank charges from halifax... as did other half we went through bank smart and i only chased mine up a month a go and ive already got mine back so thats good i cant complain hehe,.... just waiting to see if the new current accoiunt honors our overdraft and gives us it at 0% because that too will be put in the savings for wedding and overdrafts paid at a manageable amount we have set some small targets fr august next yer just to get some of the cards down its very hard to do anything to harsh untill we are saved for wedding and in the green .... deffo looking forward to giving it some bashing it just soul destroys me when i cant bash it all the time i dont always have cash avialable lol ..... i havent put fuel in my car since june because oh has free fuel so i save all my jobs to do with him hehe arent i good i havent seen the benefit yet lol ... oh sold a phone 450 so that will pay a debt and some credit cards hehe ... that will be nice ... ohs business is picking up so every extr not will be put aside and put on a credit card we are aiming to have 800 spare pm lol to lower them debts my god !! hope your well tony xx
