jackiegats wrote:I've just been to my local Woolworths to buy the times (with free Donnie Darko DVD) and the paper is only £1.10 instead of £1.80 - double bargain!! It's not advertised as an offer but came up as £1.10 at the checkout.
Went to my local friendly postoffice/newsagent with £1.60 clutched in my hand to discover they'd snuck the price up 20p! Even the poor postmaster didn't realise and had sold 4 previously at the lower price (until I pointed it out to him).
Just converting the DVD in to a format to watch on my phone on the way home!

Wibble wrote:For those that already have Donnie Darko and are wondering if it's worth getting the Directors Cut, I found a page that lists the differences from the original. Please note: If you've not seen the film before then don't read it - just get the film as it's excellent!

Maybe Baby (IMDb 5.7) - Mail On Sunday
2000 version
Sam and Lucy Bell are a married couple who seem to have it all: good looks, successful careers and an enthusiastic love life. The only thing they lack is the one thing they want most - a baby. They try everything in their efforts to reproduce: New Age chanting, acupuncture, creative lovemaking... but all this hectic schedule achieves is improvement in their cardiovascular systems. Ovulation charts soon replace spontaneity, when the couple reluctantly deliver themselves into the hands of medical professionals. At the same time, as Sam comes to find his job increasingly unfulfilling, he sets his sights on writing a screenplay, but writer's block strikes. Encouraged to 'look within' by his hippie friend Druscilla, Sam is inspired: he will write a comedy about a couple trying for a baby! But Lucy is horrified at the idea, and forbids him to tell their story. Sam and Lucy's love for each other, the most important thing they both have, will now truly be put to the test...with surprising results.

How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989) (IMDb 7.0) - The Sunday Times
The Career Where Two Heads Are Better Than One
Dennis Dimbleby Bagley is a brilliant young advertising executive who can't come up with a slogan to sell a revolutionary new pimple cream. His obsessive worrying affects not only his relationship with his wife, his friends and his boss, but also his own body - graphically demonstrated when he grows a large stress-related boil on his shoulder. But when the boil grows eyes and a mouth and starts talking, Bagley really begins to think he's lost his mind. But has he really?
