As I have still not received their email to confirm IF my application was successful, I phoned The Scotsman today to be told that ALL who applied online WILL receive the DVD, but please allow 28 days. (She admitted that "IF you have won" was misleading.)

Just got an email (well 2 actually)

    Basically sorry for the delay

I AM a lucky winner of a Whisky Galore DVD (well 2 actually)

It (they) will be despatched shortly

Success, 1 for me, 1 for my dad.

Apparently I was "one of the lucky readers who were FAST ENOUGH to claim".

Given I only applied after 23:00 on the day that claims had to be made, 7 days after the offer appeared in the paper, and it closed at midnight, I'm guessing that EVERYONE was fast enough and hence LUCKY !
