Calling All Ebay Women !

Could you please tell me how you shop on Ebay ? - do you prefer the slow rythmic build up of counting the days ,hours ,minutes,REFRESH,seconds,REFRESH until you burst into a frenzied win of a 7/5/3 day auction ?!

Or would you rather the quick thrust and immediate outcume of a BUY IT NOW price that may or may not be less than you would have got it thru auction ?!

genuinely interested as I sell a lot of womens ( and mens ) clothes and I have read that women Ebay buyers might not like hanging round seeing if the bid is still winning etc for upto a week and they would rather just buy it now - know that they have it and just wait for it to be delivered

I like to Buy It Now.

I don't like the uncertainty of bidding, and don't like how carried away I get when I really want something!

I like both, but can get carried away with the price if I'm bidding on something I really really want.

And for this reason we love eBay buyers!!

Here we have a bike saddle at £13.99 on BIN - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380042523382

Here we have the same saddle, from the same seller on Auction, ending at £17.01 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380039811080

Thanks, but I'm an engineer and shoes are something I've no interest in I'm afraid.

That's why I go on ebay, Buy it Now is like going to a shop, you can't haggle

If it's an expensive item and you want a reasonably high amount then BIN is fine, otherwise auction - people like to feel they're getting a bargain.

This is the business model that eBay seem to be pursuing by encouraging large scale retailers to the site such as Buy.com and PrimeMediaKing.
It has also been proven that internet shoppers want to make their purchases and receive their goods as quickly as possible, and with as little fuss as possible - a potential reason why buyer feedback is not as forthcoming as it once was. Feedback does not form part of the general "online shopping process" and is merely a quirk of eBay.
