Hi,

Does anyone nkow of any farm shops in or around Glasgow?
I'm looking for somewhere to buy locally grown fruit and veg, preferably organic but more important is that it's not travelled hundreds/thousands of miles.

There used to be one in Partick, not sure when though. I think Roots, Fruits and Flowers on Byres Road would probably source locally where possible, they're very friendly so try asking them.

    Farmshops etc are great.
I't berry season up here in Perthshire, so berries everywhere.
I always intend to do more farmshop buying, but somehow rarely get round to stopping.
    Tescos.... grrrr...

There is a Farmers Market on in Partick today. It's just off Dumbarton Road just along from Byres Road. It's great, they have loads of stalls and is very popular. I think it's there about every 3 weeks or so.
    Food is excellent from it.

  • Hi,
Can anyone recommend any good farm shops in Fife?
Tesco are good for blagging extra clubcard card points from but, I like nice fresh seasonal locally produced stuff
I like this place http://www.pillars.co.uk/cafeShop.html just outside Falkland (it's a bit of a trek from Dunfermline, but there are lots of nice walks nearby, so I take the dog and make a day of it) Their fruit and veg wont break the bank, but as usual the meat/chicken is a bit pricey :(

Do you know of any others?
I'm only here for the banter
