My mother is trying to connect her new laptop with a new orange livebox but the "@" light insists on flashing rapidly. Orange are no help at all so the upshot is she cannot get wireless internet access at all and is still having to use her desktop pc with her dial up modem.
She has been through to India on numerous occasions following their instructions to no avail. They have now told her it's a line fault but she can receive broadband fine through her dial up.
Please can anyone help or offer a uk based helpline number before the livebox and laptop get thrown!!
Thanks

Try on the Techie Stuff thread on here or on https://www.orangeproblems.co.uk When I set up my livebox I spoke to UK CS, I could not get any of the geographical numbers on saynoto0870 to work. http://help.orange.co.uk/documentDisplay.do?gotoLink=0&docType=1006&contextId=956:0.0&clusterName=DefaultCluster&contentId=f6101e62-d437-4e53-b850-85d39887db5a&responseId=8d2e8ca9895d3ec8:100ebec:11aefcb4983:-6223&groupId=1&answerGroup=0&score=-1&page=http://ESERVER_f2b0f4ec-9b01-4a32-9467-7a826b2ca120.xhtml&result=3&excerpt=KB6571+how+do+I+contact+you?+090+5050+5151+0844+873+8586+090+5050+0300+0844+873+8586+0844+871+0079+0844+873+8586+0845+330+7124+0870+950+0968+0845+330+7124+0844+412+2202+09062+517+517&resultType=5002#http%3A%2F%2FESERVER_f2b0f4ec-9b01-4a32-9467-7a826b2ca120.xhtml0

You are wasting your time trying to get a wireless connection until the Livebox has established a connection with the exchange! The flashing @ light indicates that the line is not synchronised with the exchange.
Go to this webpage here and enter kb14497 into the search box and click on the Find button. Follow the instructions given in Article: KB14497. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Have you logged into the livebox itself? sometimes the wireless option is not enabled. if you havent connect the laptop using ethernet to the live box and in the address bar put 192.168.1.1 this will take you into the live box. user and pass are admin. you can then check all the settings in there!0
