What is happening to the 40 stores that aren't being converted to Primark?

At least one not listed has the 'last mid-season' sales sign up. Presumably it's being closed and maybe sold?

I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with you. Not only are Primark very fashion concious (copying many catwalk trends) they are fantastic for those of us with children. My 3 year old DD is in preschool and they do painting, glueing, dough making etc which means she comes home filthy.

Knowing I can go to Primark and get good quality clothes which arent going to cost me the earth is great.

The whole ethos of this site is to help people save money, so "fashion dead" really isnt something I think about when I'm trying to find money for the food bill.

You should count yourself lucky that you are able to shop for fashion and not just for necessity.
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs
    Loss to date 32.5lbs!!!
  • I agree with ahmilligan that it is incredibly snobbish to look down on Primark. The children's clothes especially are excellent value.

The fashion industry make a lot of money from clothes snobbery and if certain people want to spend their money that way, and have less money for things that matter, then let them.

Most other towns gained a Primark when the Co-Op department stores closed. And as for "fashion dead" it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it!
Oh, an learn to write at least a bit - you're not texting a bunch of teenagers here ("my god ppl u" indeed)!
    Can I help?

Hear Hear! - this slovenly rubbish really hacks me off too - you can understand the need for it when someone doesn't have access to a proper keyboard (phone texts) - but if you're sat in front of a PC with a keyboard.....
  • I bought a lined suit for my 16 yr old daughter 15 for the jacket and 10 for the skirt from Primark and if it was fashion dead she would not be seen dead wearing it.

Primark items have been mentioned in Vogue a few times, plus they go for a fortune on Ebay. So not so fashion dead after all.

Why on earth is the Dundee Littlewoods changing to Primark? There is already a large Primark all of 3 metres away.
