    Hi everyone,

Hope you're all ok? Got back late last night, we had a good time, and some sunny weather, which was lovely! Just caught up with the posts now.

Off out to get my hair cut, then will need to start packing for next week.

Take care & catch you all soon.

    :hello: Everyone,

I am fine thanks for asking Shaz and Lady M,I have some exciting news to share, this week in my town we are holding our carnival and I have just entered Teignmouths Got Talent just for fun and I go to my heat at 4.30pm on July 23rd to sing for a place in the Grand Finale on the same evening at 8pm :) I am going to sing When you tell me that you love me by Diana Ross, all the words will be on a screen for me to look at so I wont get lost and ruin my performance,at the moment I have a bit of a sore throat so going to rest it until I sing that day :)

    Love and light,

Hi everyone how are you all?? hope your ok!

Im so so fuming and need to blow my top!

Basically its my OH'S nephews birthday today he's 8 he's asked for a game thats £40! his 2 other sisters ask for expensive presents too and my OH'S sister got £25 new look voucher for her birthday. For my OH's birthday she gave him £10 in a card!!! is that me or is that taking the mick a bit. If my kids asked my brother for a present like that i would tell them not to be so god damn cheeky!

Im so angry that he's gone and bought it him!

    What should i do?

    Steph xx

    :hello: Steph,

Not sure what you can do,but someone who is 8 years old to ask for a £40 game is way way too expensive,I have brought my brother Coldplays new album at £8.95 as a late birthday present as his birthday was in June :) I could spend more on him but he understands I dont have much money and is happy with what I get him and doesnt question the price it cost.At the end of the day its a gift and you shouldnt ask for an item or question its price,I would be angry as well that they went and got it them anyway,I dont blame you.

    hugs,

    Katie :)

    Hi Steph,
You are not being unreasonable at all. Personally, I would not get nor spend that much money as I would not be able to afford it. £40 is not cheap and like you, If my son ever asked someone for an expensive game or present, I would say the same. My son knows not to ask ppl for expensive stuff luckily.
Can you not take the game back and just get a gift voucher from the game shop? It would cost you less plus Im sure he will get more birthday money so he can use that towards his expensive game. I would be fuming too.hugs x

hi alba, welcome back glad you had a nice time
katie, good luck for the finale, as i will be away on my hols at that time.
steph, there not a lot you can do, whats done is done, to be fair on the 8 yr old, kids dont always realise how much things cost, but i do agree, that they shouldnt be asking for presents, they should be happy with whatever they recieve.
how old are his sister's, they probably old enough, to realise cost of things and certainly should not be asking for expensive things.

just had a gorgeous young man in my house :j ok, so he was only the plumber, but it makes a nice change to get a young good looking one ;)
    hugs all
