The bailiff must enter your enter and do a walking possession that you have to sign before they can actually take goods ( a walking possession is a list of items of value in your house that ythey can seize and sell on auction) Have you tried to make anarrangement with him ???? They uaually want the debt paid in full within three months. Hope this helps
Gina
I've got a baliff at the door requesting £450 ish for unpaid council tax, the original amount was only £300.
He's blocked my car in the drive, saying he will take it away as I refused to let him in the drive.
The cars in my drive, on private property and the car is only HP.
The total HP is around 8k, we have only paid around 1k.
Can he take it ?[/quote]0 -
I'm so glad the bailiff was dealt with. What a job to do eh, still.
Some great advice, thanks to those who could help, did.
Apart from the apology still awaited from one pre-judging poster (!) all has ended better than expected.
Hope you sort more things out soon.
Regards

George don't fall for anything he says..Parkingchaser seems to be baliffchaser, and he probably already leeches free information off herbie anyway, then charges for it! You want to google his website and see what he does.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

PARKINGFIGHTER...
With reference to the mention of the london boroughs not having either a contract or SLA.....I would say the following: WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD.
To date our company have had responses from 114 local authorities for copies of the bailiff contracts or SLA's and in this past 3 years have been STAGGERED to find the most shoddy paperwork possible. Many of the contracts provided to us under FOI have either long since expired......or have never been formally signed. Others do not exist.
If local authorities were private companies they would never get away with this.
Can you pm me with the name of the London Borough and I will check to see whether we have the same information as you.0 -
