They are correct. Please get his name and pm Herbie21 on here and e-mail her at www.bailiffadvice.co.uk. She comes on here most days to help and is very weel known by most bailiff companies. If she intercedes, they will back off fast.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
do you need to go out at all today? If not I would just let him sit there, you are nice and comfy in your house, he's the one that will be stuck in his car with nothing to eat drink or have any toilet to useUpdate, Just got off the phone to the debt helpline and spoke to him again.

Hes also charging £60 per hour whilst sitting there. I told him he cant as he has no house access. He said he does not need house access as the car is on the drive.

Do not go outside to him, talk to him from an open window if you can If you have to go outside lock your door and take keys with you of course and have your mobile with you. If you have any windows open close them, He only has right of peaceful entry. And he cannot charge you what he likes. Tell him to take a hike or you will call police. Hold your nerve hun. And Email Herbie as ras says. Good luck x x x x xNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Having worked for one of these bailiff firms in the past
, I would suggest that you contact the Local Authority who you owe the council tax to.
Be very apologetic about not paying and offer to make payments direct to them if they can call the bailiffs off. Offer to go in and discuss the situation with one of their officers. Explain that you're trying to sort your finances out.
Only offer to pay what you can afford AND STICK TO IT. This may be a once only offer.
Hope this helps and good luckMURPHY's NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER : NO. 88RE-START WEIGHT : (01/11/08) : 25st 0lbsWEIGHT NOW : (31/03/09) : 22st 5lbsTOTAL WEIGHT LOST : 37lbs :j0 -

Or call the police and tell them there is a very shady man hanging around outside your home placing you in a state of fear and alarm.

I'm not sure on the legalities of baliffs, but I do know that if they keep having to come back, the money you owe goes up,so I would say its best to sort out as quickly as you can.The suggestion of going to your local authority who you owe council tax seems a very good idea. When I got into arrears of 400 odd, they took my income and expenses over the phone, and all I had to pay back was £5 a week on top of my regular payments. Its best to pay a small amount over a longer time, than having to find a lot of money all at once.Good luck:)0
