Final point - she may have taken 500k for her old home but I bet it's her pension pot we're talking about, in which case why shouldn't she try to get some money off? As for the price of the house, it's really a bit steep if you ask me. The lounge is miniscule.0

I always think a good rule of thumb is if your house is on the market and getting no viewers, there's something wrong with the price. If you're getting viewers but no offers there's something wrong with the house (but that something may be that it's not worth the price)0

Interesting thread i've enjoyed reading, but think things have gone off track and some unnecessary 'b*tching' has gone on!
This site is money saving expert, no real need to slate anyones home/income/lifestyle/personal taste etc etc.... we all have different circumstances!
truly sainly, I am now in the position to buy (have another thread running), but have decided to hold out for a good few months (basically to try and get a better deal and things have broke down with a new build we were interested in), but i guarentee one thing, the moment we decide to go for it, I will be drawing up a shortlist of properties and testing the water with 'cheeky' offers. Now some vendors may see me as a timewaster, but in a buyers market that doesnt bother me one bit. As soon as i agree a deal that is good for my family, and only then will i buy!
This lady probably set out with the same intention, to get the best deal for her. The chances are she doesn't even know you are p*ssed at the way she has handled herself!
Thats my opinion in anyway.........
All the best!0 -

However, there are winners and losers in this world.
The old lady was a winner and the mortgage broker is a LOSER0 -
