I think the bank will probably take further action against him if he admits this in front of them which should be fun. See how it goes!
It seems he transferred it online so the bank will not get involved any further there is no reason they should take action against him, he has not obtained the funds from fraud because he has used passwords given by you. He owes you the money back, by admitting to the bank he did transfer it they will most likely advise you to change all your passwords to prevent it happening again and will reinstate your account so that you can use it again.
I hope he does give you the money back, its a really nasty thing to do0 -
Thanks for the info mookie. Can i just check, do the bank have the right not to give me info about my bank account? not even a balance or to stop me withdrawing funds?
Thanks0 -

Depends on their policy but does sound unusual to me, I worked at Barclays for over 7 years and I have never known an account holder who can sufficiently identify themselves to be denied information regarding their account under these circumstances, despite people stating the obvious about sharing passwords, cash cards etc this does happen quite a lot in broken relationships, with siblings of sick parents and elderly people who have carers they trust.
You will always find going to the actual branch and seeing personal bankers/manager more beneficial as telephone staff sometimes get basic information on their systems that alerts them of a problem with the account and if it is being reviewed by fraud department they will not discuss it with you, it is a lot easier to go to the branch with paper Id than try to get past security questions over the phone, bear in mind your ex probably knows enough information to get somebody else to pose as you over the telephone and pass the security questions. This is something else I would consider if I were you, for example if you currently use your mothers maiden name as an Id question, get it changed to something else.0 -
When My card was cloned, they blockd my account, and the bank could give me no other information other than it was "pending investigation", as it was being dealt by the fraud squad at the time. It was the fraud squad who informed me of the reasons. Good luck tho, lets hope his words are more honest than his actions.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
