  • Has anybody used recycled Lexmark ink cartridges from IJT Direct? Are they any good as I have always used original ones? They have a buy one get one free promotion at the moment until 22/11/06

I've always found Lexmark cartridges available on ebay at less than half shop price. Can't see it's worth agonising around for the sake of another pound or two at best.

Are these original or recycled? Is there a particular shop on ebay where you get these deals?

EDIT: All 4 cartirdges were awful. The company have agreed to take them back and have a full refund. if you deal with cartex don't email them, just ring them straight away. much less hassle!

EDIT: Took me 11 months to get a refund.... DON'T DEAL WITH THEM! AWFUL AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

From Cartex, the cheapest I found were :

    http://www.cartex.co.uk/cgi-bin/home.asp

    P series P3150

    No. 50 - £9.99

    No.25 - £10.99

    X series X5150

    No. 82 - £11.99

    No. 83 - £12.99

THESE ARE COMPATIBLE CARTRIDGES - NOT LEXMARK ORIGINALS

ALL THESE PRICES EXCLUDE VAT.. DELIVERY FOR THIS SITE IS £1.49 (2nd Class), and £1.99 (1st Class)

    Hope this helps someone

    Hi there,

Sorry, I haven't actually read the whole thread but did a quick search on my Lemxark printer model number (X2480) and nothing came up so guessed it hadn't been mentioned yet? Apologies if it has!

Anyway, the ink cartridge that I use seems only to be sold in PC World and Currys etc (No 2) - as the printer seems to be only sold by them... The printer cartridge is a single one (has both Colour and B&W in one unit) and isn't overly expensive (£14.99 from PC World/Currys etc)

I have seen similar cartridges (No 1) and printers (X2470 - this takes the No1 Cartridge) - is anyone else thinking that the X2470 and X2480 printers and No1 and No2 cartidges are the same?? If so, I could look elsewhere for cartridges?? :D

    Hope you can help!

I know this thread's predominantly about Lexmark cartridges and suppliers, but I thought I'd better post a quick note here about Tesco in-store compatible inks. We bought a 2 packs of Canon S750 compatible inks (three in a pack, yellow, cyan, magenta) in November and didn't open the first pack until last week.

    Dreadful.

We've had Tesco's compatible inks before but these seem to have come from a completely different manufacturer, they have coloured slabs of plastic in the box now to match the ink. Unfortunately, the slabs probably work better than the inks.

We rang customer services and said no, we hadn't kept the receipt for the purchases. We got the impression we weren't the only ones affected because we were told to return the unopened pack, as well as the pack with three partly used inks, for a full refund. Shomething wrong shomewhere, obviously.

Avoid Ink World! I bought through Quidco from them, and had to have both colour and black cartridges replaced. And even the replacement ones were crap. I ended up buying original Lexmark after that, and intend to just refill those from now on.
