i called back because their computer system was down when i called last time and was told they are sold out now, they tried to sell me one in September for £50. Webpage is still working though, obviously a good way of getting people to come to them.

I got my boiler service booked within 10 days of phoning - really simple to do, no hard sell or anything.

The engineer phoned this morning (as agreed) to say he would be here PM.

He arrived just after lunch and was very friendly and helpful. He was called Tim (don't know if it was the same one as City Slicker) and did a thorough job - explaining things as he went. He gave me lots of useful advice too.

When I mentioned I had heard about the offer through a forum on the web he immediately mentioned this site and said there had been a huge response.
I will definitely consider using them again next year.

Thank you Martin for pointing this one out in the email.

anyone else still waiting for there 'summer' service?
  • Yep! I've been caught out too! First booked for a date in mid August - came home to a curt answerphone message telling me that no engineer was available and that I'd been re scheduled for 6 Oct. Took yesterday (6th) off and waited.......... No phone call - No engineer! Phoned "Customer Services" this morning and after being transferred around for 10 mins ended up at the "engineers booking" desk, where i was informed that I was phoned on 3 Oct to cancel my appointment - engineer didn't leave a message and no one was at home! When I told them that was a load of b******s and that the phone was my mobile and always on - she became abusive and told me that the offer was finished!
I have written to the CEO of RWE nPower (Mr Andrew Duff) at their Head Office:

It will be interesting to see what response I get - I'll keep the forum posted.
