This deal seems too good to miss - but does anyone know what time it gets back to Portsmouth?

I know it's a daft question, but will I be able to be at work for 9am on the Monday morning?! (I live a couple of hours from Portsmouth)
I clicked on the link then filled in the boxes at top of page: minicruises

    Departure Port:Method Of Travel: Month: (select)DoverHullPortsmouth (select)Foot (select)October 2005November 2005December 2005 search_button_round.jpg

Clicked on the search button and got:

Bilbao Minicruise3-night city cruise to Bilbao with up to 4hrs ashore in Spain. The cruise includes an ensuite cabin on board the Pride of Bilbao cruiseferry. Our 2 for 1 offer means that when one pays, one goes free! We have set aside a limited number of cabins at these prices, so book early to avoid disappointment.
    '2 for 1' price from £24
per person, based on 2 sharing
    more

Clicked on "more" to reach next page where there is a link to your minicruise itinerary - which will give you all the times of departure, arrival, etc.

    Hope this helps

You don't get any meals included - if you're on a budget take cereal bars and snacks - pot noodles etc..._pale_

The cabins are pretty standard, we had inside cabins, some had bunks some were slightly larger with two sets of bunks so if there were two of you noone had to brave being on the top. We didn't find the cabins noisy on any of our mini cruises. Just try not to stay in them too much as you can feel the ship movements a lot more in a tiny cabin (especially when you are sliding up and down your bunk!)

If you want a cheap break and a bit of fun and aren't too fussy then it's great especially with a group of friends or other couples! (our last trip we organised was for 108 of us in 2 coaches from Glos) They actually gave us a free place in every 15 as a group booking which was good!

If I remember rightly we left Portsmouth at 8pm on the Saturday night and arrived in Santander/Bilbao early Monday morning, we got off for 4 hours (we wandered around until we could get back on the boat, but they also do excursions) we then set sail at approx 12 midday and you should arrive back in Portsmouth on Tuesday (weather permitting!!)

I'm off to bed now but if I can help at all just ask!

    Hi Pinkpig74.

I haven't checked all the times, however I think genrally you get back to Portsmoth around 5.00pm. We are travelling back to Liverpool and I hope to be back in work hazy but haveing enjoyed a chill out break the next morning.

  • Been on this trip quite a while ago. Great fun!!
    ENTERTAINMENT
We found ourselves on a 60's theme cruise with a couple of well known 60's liverpool groups playing in the main bar. Very entertaining and worth ringing P&O to see if they are still doing these trips. Highly recomended although with nowhere to go but the many bars you can imagine what it is like by late afternoon with drunken Brits rolling about.
Beware of the weather although the boat handles it well.
    Food I found VERY EXPENSIVE.
Bars the same but should have been cheap cos of not tax! Get the duty free in.
  • I've booked on this trip but sadly before the 2 for 1 offer. If I remember rightly at the time of booking the main details are:

The ship sails every 4 days I think
Last check in is at 20.00 and it sails at 20.45
Meals are extra, but can be purhcased beforehand - I paid £66 if memory serves(that gets me three breakfasts and three evening meals
You get approximately 4.5 hours in Bilbao
As far as I know all rooms are twin beds or bunk beds!
    Arrival in Portsmouth is 17.15
You don't get tickets or written confirmation - they supply you with a booking reference over the phone, which you have to quote when checking in.

I'm really looking forward to it - we sail on October 29th. Pray for good weather and calm seas!!!!

If you choose to stay on board the ferry for the whole journey and decide not to get off at Bilbao do you need to bring your passport?

P&O Terms and Conditions stipulate that you must have a passport,

"(iii) A passport for all passengers (including children and infants), valid beyond the date of return, is required for all trips."

Does anyone know the legal position of someone taking this offer and not coming back. In other words using this as a single journey. I am aware that P&O will not be happy and will say that it cannot be done, but what about this offer and other day returns that are cheaper than singles.

this would have been great but unfortunately it is just too expensive to travel down from the west of Scotland -:( Great for those of you who live nearby htough.....
Its quite possible to travel from Scotland(or any large town/City in the uk)via London to Portsmouth for just £4 return each ,using National Express funfares.(Hell of a journey though)
They are also doing the £9 anywhere single journey promo again,if funfare times are akward.
Great way to cut down on uk travel costs.
